Very immobile too, like his hips are just shot

ResidentSleeper bring back CV please

RRxtar 01-20-2018 10:45 PM

DC fight was good. Rory's face is too busted, no durability left. Rampage and chael were old. Stipe looked like something was wrong and Francis looked like dada5000 when he gassed and that was one of the worst fights in memory

Berzerker 01-23-2018 09:47 AM

Stipe really should have gone for the finish. I don't know how he couldn't have worked to a rear naked being in that position for so long. Knees to the body would have been huge too, I really wonder why more guys don't do them.

Berz out.

Totally agree with the knees to the body/thighs especially from the position "Steve" had him in.

Bad night of fights for the most part, Francis looked awful, another UFC hype train, I wasn't buying Rogan proclaiming "he's a once in a lifetime athlete", based on what exactly?

Rogan spews out a lot of bullshit, he used to say that Ronda would beat some men at 135. Basically if you can string together a few decent wins in a row Rogan thinks you should be on the Mount Rushmore of MMA.

RRxtar 01-24-2018 04:10 PM

You dont think its part of Rogan's job to hype up fighters in the pre-fight hype segments? Francis was on a 10 fight, 10 finish win streak absolutely wrecking people. Of course there is hype behind that. Hes also 6'4 and 260lbs with dynamite in his hands.

Also, if you listen to Rogan outside of the pre-fight hype segments, and listen to him talk about Francis on the JRE, he actually was a bit suspect of him, especially anywhere other than his boxing.

I think the fight was poorly timed tho as it was 6 weeks after his last one. Sure he finished Overeem in under 2 minutes, but thats 2 camps back to back with no break. Also apparently he 'took off' to France for 2 weeks before the fight, something may have been off.

MarkyMark 01-24-2018 04:30 PM

Sure he was on a streak, but his most notable two wins were against guys that have been KO'd more times than the rest of the UFC roster combined.

He should fight Cain next and the winner can have another crack at Stevie Stipe.

I ALWAYS try to buy into the hype, that's what makes it fun to watch!

It's like watching wrestling, but the non pre-determined outcomes makes it even more exciting. But if you are too analytical about it, it just becomes technical and boring (to me anyway). I guess that can be fun in a way, but I'd rather just sit back and enjoy hype trains crushing opponents (Conor) or crashing and burning when truly tested (Francis). If you want to be super technical, you don't even need to watch UFC, you could watch any league, any skill level.. There's no hype, just guys fighting. If you like that, all the power to you. I'm not going to argue against it (though these hardcore fans LOVE to)

For instance GSP's win over Bisping. Not exactly a technical masterpiece of a fight. He'd probably get destroyed by ANY other fighter in that weight class. But the STORY he told by coming back and winning the title.. THAT is what makes it entertaining!

Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier set for champion vs. champion superfight at UFC 226; will also coach TUF 27

Zedbra 01-26-2018 03:41 PM

Mighty Mouse and Cyborg want in ont the payday. That could be a great card.

MarkyMark 01-26-2018 07:59 PM

Wow didn't think DC would actually do that fight.

murd0c 01-26-2018 09:42 PM

kind of makes sense. I remember hearing that DC wants to retire by 2018 so mind as well go for that big payday before he retires, perhaps the win will cement him as pound for pound best fighter? There's not much competition for DC at light heavyweight anyways so what's the point of cutting the weight, especially since DC makes a hard cut to make weight.

If there was a time for DC to win the heavyweight belt, it would be now. Cain is still out, and it'll take him a bit (couple of fights?) to get back into contendership anyways. By the time he gets there, DC will vacate the belt (if he's champion), and Cain can fight for it.

GLOW 01-29-2018 06:46 PM

if DC beats stipe steve he should call out brock lesnar Kappa :troll:

Mr.Money 02-11-2018 10:27 AM

quick double jab and a fast as hell throw next.....DAMN.

cunninglinguist 02-11-2018 12:10 PM

UFC should book Rockhold vs Bisping 3 next as Bisping's last fight. Then we get to see both these guys try to KO each other with left hooks.

MarkyMark 02-11-2018 02:27 PM

Not sure where Rockhold goes from here, I used to think he was going to be a force at MW but perhaps his best days are behind him after a couple of KO loses. I guess the Bisping fight makes sense if Bisping is up for it.

cunninglinguist 02-11-2018 03:20 PM

LOL, Rockhold gets the worst and best in people after the fight. Kinda cringy

GLOW 02-11-2018 09:10 PM

didn't he want to try LHW?
