Fuck that was an awesome night. That Sanchez fight was probably one of the best fights I've ever seen. But the Nelson fight was a bore Posted via RS Mobile |

That floor attack was totally on purpose too |

It was and the undercard was just as good! |

Most of the fighters I hoped would win ended up losing... BUT, all that really matters was how entertained I was, haha. That was an extremely good card. |
Looks like whoever is working the diet at AKA is doing a good job. DC & Cain both looked slimmer Posted via RS Mobile |
Like Rogan said on the card, I would love to see a SPORTS SCIENCE done on Cain's Cardio, he weighs the same as JDS, shorter, looks unassuming (he's not rocking a bunch of muscles), and yet he's relentless. Speaking of which, I'm always intrigued by fighters' physiques relative to their body weight. I.e. DC is 220 and he looks way bigger than Cain who is 240. Maybe its because I've taken a keen interest in nutrition... (btw anyone watch the Lombard/Marquardt fight?) |
You have to remember though that the weigh-in weights are not indicative of their fight day weights. I remember seeing a chart from a recent event in Brazil and the weight variation was about +10 lbs to almost +40 lbs over their weigh-in weight. Lombard is probably one of them as he looked to be 200 lbs easy. As for physiques, it comes done to more genetics too - some people can get cut and shredded more easily than others. |

Also, do they ever talk about what the optimal weight is for each weight class? The common weight cut is around 10-20lbs, but it seems to be that this amount applies to Welterweights as well as Light Heavyweights, which is interesting considering the (general) height difference. (I'm obviously thinking too much into this LOL) |
I think it was Anthony Johnson that would regularly gain back 20-30 lbs easily after his weigh ins :lol |
