To be honest using steroids to help treat an injury and help recovery is very common and widely used. So I can see him using them to facilitate his recovery. If that's the story they come out with I will believe it and hopefully people can move on.

Being positive for weed who the fuck cares. It's gonna be Ribliati all over again. I didn't smoke it but I was in the same room as people who were. Haha

Ch28 02-04-2015 11:09 AM

The metabolites for marijuana are also remain in your system a lot longer, so he could've smoked weeks ago and still have it in his system

RRxtar 02-04-2015 02:02 PM

This is the 3rd time hes tested positive for weed. So I don't think the NSAC gives a shit what excuse he has.

As for Anderson. I dont think this will ruin his reputation much. People will look back and understand that hes almost 40 years old and might have needed help recovering from such a devastating injury.

Sure is interesting that he has a box of needles in his closet in that video from 2011 tho.

Silva speaks about the situation

Quote:

“I’ve been competing in this sport for a very long time. This is my nineteenth fight in the UFC. I have been thoroughly tested many times and have never had a positive drug test.

“I have not taken any performance-enhancing drugs. My stance on drugs is, and will always be, the same. I’m an advocate for a clean sport.

“I’m consulting with my advisors right now to explore all of my options and intend to fight this allegation and clear my name. I will not make any further comments until my team advises me to do so.”

At the current levels, which were raised by 300%, you have to smoke within the last 7-10 days to test positive.

SkinnyPupp 02-04-2015 04:21 PM

BTW here's Anderson's strength & conditioning coach

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B9CCQaRIgAAwQdQ.jpg

SkinnyPupp 02-04-2015 04:24 PM

Drostanolone is used to maintain strength while cutting. Anderson has probably been using it his whole career, as do probably 90% of the fighters at all levels. Expect to see more main events ruined now that they're doing more stringent testing. At least until they realize they have to cut taking anabolics completely.

Androstane must be relatively new, because there's not much information about it.

As for the results being a joke, it's not up to NSAC to receive results in a timely manner unless they specifically ask for it to be rushed. In this case they tested twice (but not the B sample) which may explain why it took longer than normal.

The lab doesn't know whose sample they are testing - they just test and re-test if necessary. If asked to specifically rush a sample, they can do so.

In the future, I assume the NSAC will be rushing every result, otherwise there's not much point in pre-fight testing.

Bill Bennett, director of NSAC:

Quote:

"The time lapse is unacceptable," Bennett said. "We've made arrangements with the lab to make sure we get the results within seven days and they are working hand in glove with us on this."

RRxtar 02-04-2015 04:44 PM

Anderson is the 3rd Black House fighter in the last 6 months to test positive for Drostanolone. Kevin Casey at UFC 175 in July in Vegas, and Brian Ortega at UFC on Fox 12 in SanJose.

Also Rafael Cavalcante tested positive for stanozolol in 2012

Anderson Silva's win over Nick Diaz switched to a no contest - Bloody Elbow

Quote:

Things have gone from bad to worse for Anderson Silva, after an impressive win against Nick Diaz at UFC 183 the UFC announced that the former long term champion had tested positive for two performance enhancing drugs in his Jan 9th pre-fight drug test. While Silva adamantly denies any wrong doing NAC executive director Bob Bennett has decided to overturn Silva's victory. In light of the failed drugs test the bout result will now be changed to a no contest which could have massive financial repercussions for Silva.

Speaking to Brazilian newspaper Folha Bennett said :

'Yes, it will be ruled a NC (no contest). I don't know if he will receive the win bonus after this change. That's UFC's call, but a percentage of his purse will be held because of this episode.'

Anderson Silva now faces the prospect of a substantial fine as well as a long term suspension and as Bennett hinted the UFC might also revoke his win bonus which is likely sizable.

With this latest development Silva's record is now without a win since October 2012 and it seems unlikely that he will have the opportunity to add to his win column in the foreseeable future. Stay tuned to Bloody Elbow for more news and updates as this story continues to unfold.

Jon Fitch flunks WSOF 16 drug test, suspended nine months - MMA Fighting

SkinnyPupp 02-06-2015 04:12 PM

Speaking of Fitch, did you see how big he got after stopping being a vegetarian? :lawl:

neggo 02-06-2015 06:01 PM

This is funny coming from Fitch considering how vocal he was about how clean he was throughout his entire career.

SkinnyPupp 02-06-2015 06:13 PM

Yup the only one more vocal than him has been GSP

murd0c 02-06-2015 07:13 PM

How confident are you guys that GSP has been clean this whole time? I want to say I think he has been but I dunno these days

GLOW 02-06-2015 08:24 PM

i am not impressed by your performance.....enchancing drugs...:troll:

until proven i'm saying GSP is clean.

So he loses $200k by losing the win bonus. Im pretty sure he gets PPV points and Im pretty sure he gets that money win or lose. $200k hurts, but Im sure hes probably walking away with a few million still

Slightly above 0%, being kind

neggo 02-07-2015 04:23 PM

Yep, love GSP but now, anyone is really questionable.

SkinnyPupp 02-07-2015 05:39 PM

MMA needs more of these, IMO. Brings me back to the Pride days when just about every single fight was intriguing and not just a bunch of geeks fighting for no real reason most of the time.

SkinnyPupp 02-08-2015 04:00 PM

Report: UFC has blocked $6 million payment to Anderson Silva - Bloody Elbow

I doubt this is true. If anything, the win bonus will be forfeit since the result was changed to a NC.

GLOW 02-08-2015 06:06 PM

iirc aoki lost his head instructor position at his dojo for that finger

neggo 02-09-2015 06:00 AM

Aoki is a phaggot. I hope he gets into the UFC one day so I can see him get fucked up.

SkinnyPupp 02-09-2015 06:29 AM

He already fought in Strikeforce and got fucked up by Melendez (well layed and prayed on for 5 rounds)
