Wow. Fight starts with a scrambly roll into trapped arm and a free arm bar and it's over. Didn't even get a chance to fight. She didn't even work for the arm, it just ended up there. 2 fights in a row end on the first scramble less than 16 seconds.
It didn't matter that Cat went charging in - as soon as they touched, the same thing was going to happen. Only instead of a reversal, it would have been a judo throw into a submission. Cat didn't' stand a chance.
I assumed it was just a figure of speech, just saying you disagree. I'd pretty much bet on Ronda beating anyone else in 1 minute, except Cyborg. Then again I have a feeling she wants to test her standup so maybe not...
The Ronda PPV did a huge number according to Meltzer. No final number yet, but looking like 500-600K
A one fight (hell, a one fighter show) show doing 500K is nothing short of phenomenal. Bones can do good numbers with the right opponent, but against guys like Gus or Texeira you're looking at 300K.
Whoever said women can never main event PPVs has to be eating their words now. (and I don't mean Dana, I mean people in the press)
This was on his 3/5 podcast (paid subscription required).
I'd bet money on a Cyborg fight doing damn near 1 million buys, if she ever decides to start cutting mass (she's up to 175 now)
Burt "Babysitter to the stars" Watson quit earlier this year after being with the UFC since forever. Every single fighter that has worked the UFC has nothing but great things to say about him, and it looks like he got disrespected by someone in Ronda's entourage. Dana sided with Ronda (because he's an idiot) and Burt quit
saw that this morning. i'm waiting on more info to confirm. at first they said it was munoz but mark said it wasn't him and then it jumped to ronda's entourage.
A little insight into fighter pay. Was listening to Chael Sonnen on Adam Corolla's podcast today and he said while the UFC has a NDA for fighter pay, he said "right there" when Corolla was guessing at the $5million/fight mark for Jon Jones vs Chael and lead on that JJ made that for the DC fight too.
How many fighters do you think get PPV points now? Lorenzo said in 2011, 29 fighters got a PPV cut. When the UFC signed Eddie Alvarez, his contract was for $1 for every buy between 200,000 and 400,000, $2 between $400,000 and $600,000 and $2.50 for every buy over 600,000.

You can probably look at the rankings and put together a good guess... Basically anyone who has headlined a card, or who was a free agent they had to entice away from Bellator (Alvarez, Melendez, Lombard) and McGregor. There may be some others who got sweet deals
