Silva ends his career having lost 2 of his 3 (one in embarrassing fashion) and a lengthy suspension after testing positive for PEDs...
GSP ends his career with a belt, on a 12-fight winning streak against top guys, and the exit was partly as a result of disagreements over lax PED standards...
Brock has nothing to prove, he come to the UFC won the heavy weight belt and has some great battles. Yes I would love to see him fighting again but would rather him stay away then getting shit kicked again.
Interesting anecdote about the Brock signing. Before he finalized with WWE, he called Lorenzo, who doubled his previous offer. He would have made the same amount per fight that he made per year with his last WWE deal. He said 10X his previous UFC contract, which is probably $4-5 million per fight, depending on if they're including bonuses and that...
That should tell us that he really didn't want to get back into fighting, and the WWE signing wasn't just for money. It also tells us how desperate UFC is to have star power once again.
It sounds like both the ufc and WWE were desperate, it just turned out that being in the WWE was easier than having to train like a beast everyday and get punched in the face for it
No way Brock had any interest in coming back to the UFC at all. Its not just about getting punched in the face. He hasn't done MMA in 3.5 years, and had almost a year off due to his illness before that. He basically hasn't trained MMA in 4.5 years and hes 37 now. You cant jump back into the game after not training for that long and hope to be competitive. And he really wasn't that skilled even at his peak, he was just powerful as hell and had pretty good offensive wrestling that got him top game control, and 300lbs of meathead can rain down hell on anyone.
