electric pressure washer recommendations?

can someone recommend a good reliable electric pressure washer suitable for household/automotive use?

backstory: i bought a karcher (made in china) from costco to replace simoniz POS i bought from crappy tire. before that, i had an older german made karcher model that lasted me almost a decade (still works, but the hose is damaged and they don't make a replacement for it anymore) so i thought i should go back to that brand. instead, this new one didn't last me one year before breaking down before the warranty was almost up, and i was given a replacement. now the replacement has crapped out on me as well... so much for brand loyalty

I too am looking for a good pressure washer. Unfortunately, my initial research indicates that electric pressure washers are unreliable overall.

Gas-powered or nothing it seems.

^ Was just about to say.. unfortunately, like lawn mowers (in my experience) it's gas or you're looking at replacing often.

ugh, that was the news i didn't want to hear. i used to use one but the storage unit i share has a strict policy of no fuel storage and dumping gas out of it was too much trouble. that and the complaints to the strata over how loud it was didn't help...

so, simoniz and karcher are no longer an option. can anyone else think of a decent electric pressure washer that is cheap enough to be disposable to junk and replace when it breaks? the repair bill for the karcher was almost 2/3rds the cost of what i paid for it new

I bought a snap on pressure washer a few years back, no problems at all use it once a week to wash cars.

Don't think they sell it anymore tho. I think it was around $120 brand new 2000psi

ugh i didn't even know snap on sold pressure washers. i paid more than $120 for that stupid karcher and it was less than 2000psi. and i've maybe used it less than a dozen times since getting the new replacement

The Snap-on one is probably a re-badged product someone else, just like the $200 Snap-on air compressor sold at Costco.

I've had luck with my Karcher that I bought at Costco 5+ yrs ago. If you just want a cheap disposable washer, Walmart occasionally sells one for $50.

In the case of your Karcher, how long does Costco allow for exchanges/refunds?

costco is not involved. there is a big label stuck on the box saying you have to deal directly with karcher for warranty claims.

the warranty was only good for one year. the replacement for the original that broke only carried the remainder of the original's warranty, which means this new one is no longer covered because it's been over a year now.

Check out BE Pressure washers.

They're in Abby, and they carry a huge line of gas/electric pressure washers, from portable to wall mounted.

It's a bit of a drive for most, but replacement parts/repairs would be much more convenient.

really like how the kranzle looks on paper... but at those prices it's pretty much commercial grade. i would have to be charging $$$ to wash my neighbors cars for life to pay that off!

for car washing, foam cannon etc. you want a pressure washer that has high gallons per minute (gpm) and lower psi, something with a 2.0gpm or higher and the lowest psi would be optimal
