How could you apply that much power to the wheels?? Didn't the veyron need special tires for it's 1000hp..what would 4000hp do to the rubber?
Not necessarily they needed it, I think it was to add cool factor.
The tire was designed by aircraft tire engineers, I think a lot of part of Veyron was designed by aviation engineers.
Some high performance tires are totally good for Veyron's 1001hp.
A lot of tuned GT-Rs and Supras have more than 1000hp without special tires.
SSC Ultimate Aero, Hennessey Venom GT, and all the other cars didn't have special tires either.

the 1000 bhp Supras and GTRs don't reach 400 km/h anyway.
I don't know about the Aero tires, but Veyron's tires were designed to run safely at +380 km/h for longer period of time. Most of these tuner cars and "record breaking" cars do a bunch of runs and retire(including the Aero). the Veyron was meant to stay in production for a number of years so it's a different story.

"a lot of cars", comes up with list of 9 with 3 obsolete cars from 90s.
note how I said "production" car, none of those are really in production except for the Koenigsegg and it never did 440 kmh
well there are a lot of cars that can do 400km/h
Keating TKR
418km/h
Koenigsegg Agera R
440km/h
Lotec Sirius
400km/h
SSC Ultimate Aero
414km/h
9ff GT9-R
414km/h
Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette
410km/h
Hennessey Venom GT
437km/h
Weber Faster One
400km/h
Porsche Dauer 962
402km/h
I wouldn't trust to drive ANY of those cars 400km/h except the porsche and the koeneggsig. Veyron was designed to be driven close to top speed on a regular basis and as comfortably as possible. In other words, its meant to be driven in Germany. Not LA traffic.
