Rogers has released North America's worse rewards program.
The gist of it is this: there's a program tier depending on your monthly bill
$0-$69.99/month: you get 1 point per dollar
$70-$199.99/month: you get 1.5 points per dollar
$200+/month: you get 2 points per dollar
points can be used to redeem travel packs and other add ons.
Let's say I'm paying $50 a month, this will net me 50 points a month.
Then I want to redeem the US travel pack which has 40 mins + 100 texts for 1 month which costs 4000 points. It would take me 4000/50 = 80 months =
6 years and 8 months to get enough points for the cheapest 40 mins + 100 text US travel pack add on.
WTF?
Granted you get more points if you pay more per month; like those who have TV, wireless and home phone. But it still doesn't beat Fido's 2% Fidodollars. I'm so glad I ported to Fido last year.
Still, Rogers customers should sign up for it. You'll be able to redeem something in a couple of years. Better than nothing right?
