What cars do you wish were sold in North America? It's clear that the U.S. and Canada get the short end of the stick when it comes to certain types of cars. I don't know whether it's the different crash/emissions standards, perceived lack of demand or fears of cannibalizing sales of established brands. Maybe it's all three. Anyway, if you had the power, what cars would you bring over here? Here's my list, in no particular order. Most hot hatches. Scirocco R, Focus RS, Civic Type R, A45 AMG. My best guess as to why automakers bring hot hatches here is the price--they quickly get into Camaro/Mustang territory. Compact trucks and diesel trucks. The Diesel scene in NA (at least if you don't want a turbodiesel land yacht) is slowly changing with the Ram EcoDiesel, but compact trucks have all but disappeared here. Unfortunately, even in international markets the Hilux and Ranger are becoming Tundra and F-Series lookalikes because of tightening crash standards. Sport wagons. The CTS-V needs a rival. IN MANUAL, PLEASE (I'm looking at you, RS4 Avant) The G65 AMG...just because. So, that's my list. What do you want to see on North American roads? |

There's a lot of gutless econo boxes in Europe that I'm glad I don't see them here. Example: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...05_vl_blue.jpg The A class and 1 series hatch are cool though. |
