Sorry to pull up an old thread, but this is the only existing thread that's relevant to my issue. I dropped off 2 curbed wheels to Wheeltech for repair on April 3, 2014. Today is now July 16, 2014 (3.5 months!) and he STILL has not finished them. Everytime I call or text him he tells me he's made little progress. Within 2 weeks of dropping it off, he realized that one of his workers took off the tires and put one of my tires on someone else's rims. He was never able to find it, so now he owes me a new tire to go with the rim. He admited that this is partly why he keeps bumping my project (because he's going to lose money on this job since he has to buy me a new tire). I've been pretty patient, as he originally told me it would take 3 weeks. Summer is almost over and I'm rolling on WINTER TIRES STILL. I'm supposed to go to Seattle this weekend, so I told him I REALLY need the wheels back this weekend as I don't want to drive so far on my winter tires (and wear them out even more). What can I do to light a fire under his ass at this point? Complain to the BBB??? Thanks guys. |
Go pick up your wheels and take them somewhere else... :derp: |
first time i've heard of this shop... is it new? |
The shop has been around for 4 + years now. Sounds like "Charlie Brown" is still there, he gave me the same run around. All in all I had to get the wheels redone a year after. Paint job was absolute junk and did not adhere properly. I would definitely take the wheels elsewhere at this point once he compensates you for the tire. |
LOL 3.5 months to repair 2 rims?? wtf take your rims back and gtfo there. I went to repair my curbs rims at Greens and they finished it within 2 days... |
Light a fire under his ass? We need to light a fire under YOUR ass! lol You're gettin' jerked around man, plain and simple. You've been extremely patient, way more than I would be... But it's time to go pick up your wheels, hopefully get some money towards a new tire (but I wouldn't hold my breath), and go someplace else. I've heard lots of good reviews for Green's. |
After one month i would have been steamed. 3.5 months? :heckno: fuck |
I've gone to this place 3 times already (I suck at parking LHD...too used to driving RHD growing up lol) Renewz Wheel Refinishing Not the fanciest looking place but they do an excellent job with repair and paint matching. I've seen everything from classics, european exotics to jdm there. The best part is they have great pricing and service. Better pricing than any of the big name places I got quoted and they are a small shop that will attend to your vehicle right there and then....just make sure to call ahead of time. |
Couple years back I bought a set of rims that were in pretty bad shape that needed to be repaired. Called all the popular places but decided to go with wheel tech based on price. The whole process took about 2 weeks and results were decent. There were still some minor blemishes left from the curb rashes but they were acceptable. I probably wouldn't go back since I'm quite picky but the price was right. I believe he charged me about 500 for 4 wheels refinished and painted with 2 bent rim repairs. |
reviving an old thread but still relevant. I just got my rim fixed by Renewz Wheelrepair in north van and Alex did an amazing job. The cost is a lot less than all the competitors and service was awesome. |
yep just called him and the quote was really, really cheap. will have to take a day off to go check it out though |
I have some 3 piece wheels black chrome wheels that I want to get curb rash fixed. Which shop is best for fixing chrome wheels? I heard that you can't paint over the chrome so the chrome on the lip will probably need to be machined off. one of the wheel lip is also slightly bent. |
