Wheel tech rim repair shop I ve visited almost every wheel repair shop the past few days, greens,nu brite, western, panther and the latest one I went to was wheel tech. the owner of wheel tech showed me around the shop and the work seems pretty good, but I m not too fond of their colours. (maybe its just the way the customers wanted it). I have a set of DPEs and I wanted gloss black lip and matte black face. so, couple questions here.. 1. has anyone used wheel tech before? 2. does anyone know which shade/code (not sure what their called) of gloss black and matte black goes well together? 3. wheel tech has some gloss black rims that were finished and to me they almost looked rubbery/plasticky, and i m not too fond of that look if its gonna be on my rim lip. is that normal? or do they just have poor skills? 4. Thanks! |

I would go elsewhere: slow work (3 months for 2 different jobs), lack of communication and overall subpar work. My experience with them was from 2 years back when they first opened shop. Not sure if its still under the same ownership or not. Posted via RS Mobile |

he did mention something about giving him time to get the job done. lol. I guess no one really been to these guys eh, hence the thread views. but has anyone done the gloss black lip and matte black, to chime in on the colour codes? |
I had mine done at panthers. gloss black lip and matte/satin black centres on my 3 piece hre wheels. Turn around time was under a week to take apart the wheels and paint. Talk to Paul at Panther he can tell you the colour codes http://i43.tinypic.com/mii5af.jpg Posted via RS Mobile |
there is also "Wheel fix it" in surrey. they do excellent work |

I've dealt with Greens myself and they do excellent work. |
What sort of beast tire requires a 19x12? :OOOO |

how much did that cost you? did you repair any curb rashes or was it just a straight forward paint job? that is pretty much the look I m going for. |

Panthers did a PERFECT job of redrilling and refinishing the volks that were on my GTI although it was the PO of the wheels that had it done so I'm not sure of the cost. I think it was pricey, but the quality was sure there. |
I still have wheels sitting in my garage half stripped/sanded... Need to have them done for ~march, might have to check out some of the recommended places. |
Theres really alot of good and bad reviews on every shop I find.. I searched up a few threads and many said panthers a joke and many also said their very good. I m still debating who to go with. As wheel tech seems very honest but a little skeptical about their painting skills. Noob question but does powder coat cost more or paint? My original dpe wheel face is a flat/chalky black but very smooth and I really want to keep it like that. I m not too sure if that's a powder coat or flat paint. |
I would never PC expensive wheels. Paint can easily be re-done/repaired. |
Nubite refinished 2 of my 19" Carlssons. They welded, x-xray tested, repainted the faces and polished the lips. They came out looking better than new, I couldn't be happier and will be a returning customer in the future. |
Another +1 for Nubrite. I had a curbed 20x9 Maya DX2 3 piece wheel. They did a great job and very quick turn around. |
Nubrite is who I've always recommended my customers to. Haven't let me down yet. |

ive worked with nubrite, greens, panthers. all of them have their specialties, so i send to different shops depending on the finish i want. i even send down to the states for certain special finishes. |
Sg! Who would you recommend for something like gloss black lip and matte black face ? |
