Death hoaxes are pretty common, and the Paul Walker thing was done this week even. TMZ is pretty good with source checking though, and a work acquaintance of mine claims he was at the car show in Santa Clarita and saw the whole thing happen, if that means anything to you.

I've read some sites saying it's real and others saying it's a hoax. I'm not doubting there was a crash but I'll wait for a "better" source than TMZ before believing it's Paul Walker.

Walker's verified twitter account just confirmed it. RIP Paul.

Here's Jalopnik's take. Nothing confirmed yet. All sites I've seen cite TMZ. Although they get second-best treatment being a gossip site, they seem to be right more times than wrong.
