LP640-4 a hyper car? We all know theres a very opaque line differentiating a "super car" and a "hyper car". For example, an Enzo is a hyper car; whereas a 458 Italia is a super car. However, BBC Top Gear just posted this on youtube, labeling the LP640 a hyper car. If the 640 is a hyper car, then why is its successor, the Aventador, a mere super car? |
Semantics. You can argue either way. |
Really no hard-set line between the two. But a good reason why in this particular case is the TIME in which both are debuting. The competitor for the lambo now is just that much more intense. |
Hypercars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypercar "The Hypercar is a design concept car developed by energy analyst Amory Lovins at the Rocky Mountain Institute." |
I think Enzo, Aventador, LFA, Veyron, etc...they're all supercars. What the fuck is hypercar anyways? |
IMO... hyper car = crazy hp, super expensive(beyond regular supercar expensive) but not really great handling etc Supercar = high hp, quite expensive, but handles, brakes, takes corners, does everything amazing, possibly livable with every day |

In your definition, hypercars can only be Bugatti Veyron and Koenigsegg only because of their topspeed. Let's face it, GT-R and Vette will smoke McLaren F1 and Ferrari Enzo around on the track. |

So you're actually talking about cars that aren't particularly great on both topspeed and handling? but produced less than 10? I guess the Veyron will disqualify since they made like 300 of them. |
Maybe the lp670-4 SV is a hypercar in its time (2010). Not too sure about the 640 |
supercar = any high end sports car hypercar = a branch of supercars that are the flagship/halo products...they typically have a very limited production...think Enzo, Agera R, Zonda, CGT |

SLR 722 as well. |
funny how ever since aventador came out no one ever mentions this baby http://www.moibibiki.com/files/image...i-reventon.jpg |
The reventon is styled really nice actually. Its too bad its pretty much just a lp640 underneath. They shouldve put the sv engine into it. |
just a buzzword used to move cars. no different from calling a smartphone a superphone. I could go further and say that there is no such thing as a supercar..just high end sports cars. It's all marketing. |
Super car messes with the G forces, Hyper car messes with the G strings. |
I would say a hyper car is an absolute top of the range, limited edition, very exclusive, absurdly extreme performing car. The, 'you cant drive that fast unless they invite you to spend your money' cars. By todays standards, say at least 2 of the 3: 700hp+, $750k+, under 500 built Enzo, Veyron, Koenigsegg Agera, Zonda F, Huayra, Mclaren F1, etc Supercar would be a top of the line car that is available to most people with the money that provides absurd performance, but perhaps more road oriented than track. Not based off a lower model car Say 600+hp, $300k+, maybe under 5000 available thru its lifecycle Mucielago, Aventador, Zonda, 911 GT2, Ferarri 599GTB, SLR, etc Below that would be your high end sportscars. Street cars first, that are great on the track. Could be an exclusive model of a lower end car. ZR1, 458, 430, gallardo, GTR, 911 turbo, 911 GT3, Aston Martin, R8, SLS etc Sportscars below that Z06, GT500, 911, etc |

i dunno timpo, most of the cars u posted are sorta like other country weird ass "super cars" that no one really pays attention to, and u also got like a bunch of kit cars and one off super luxury cars in there, also some race cars for the road or seeminly just straight up race cars :suspicious: |
timpo i don't know if my scroll wheel can take another one of your posts im sending you the bill for it if it breaks |
the first time i ever heard of "hypercar" term used was this: Agera R http://turnlol.com/images/2012/10/ca...-wallpaper.jpg |
