Catalytic Converter Location I tried searching and couldn't really find anything that answered my question I have a 2000 Acura EL 1.6 all stock with the original d16y8 the CEL light is on and I get the code P0420 for a catalytic converter deficiency the question I had was is the cat built in the exhaust manifold like some Honda's? or is it separate from the manifold? I have heard both and was wondering if someone who has some experience with Honda's could let me know I would look myself but I have no place to do so and it is cold and snowing outside |
It's separate. Another RS member had the same problem with the same car and he just gutted the cat out lol. Posted via RS Mobile |
My EL and Integra both had the same codes, as said above its under the car. Only the D16Y7 (non-vtec) in Civics had the cat built into the exhaust manifold. I ended up buying a Magnaflow, direct fit cat off ebay for $150. |
