The new cabin will be available on the new 777 they're taking delivery of in Nov and new 777x which will replace all the 777s. There's no plans to retrofit the existing 777 fleet with the new cabin.
So I'm on my way to China/Taiwan and going to blow some miles as being a multi-city itinerary, price doesn't look too promising by buying a ticket.
Options:
1. Go China first and TW on the way back. Choices are between Air China business or add an extra stop in SFO for United's Global First.
2. Go TW first and then China. Options then become AC on 787-9, then TG A330.
On the way back it's the same, PEK-YVR direct.
Which option would you guys take?
I would honestly not consider United business/first product until they put in their Polaris seats. I hear Air China business actually isn't that bad if you get the right plane, of course they serve some really bad wine/champagne from the trip reports i've read.
If I had to choose between the 2 though, i'd go option 2, AC and TG are great products.

Yeah, I think AC being a 787 definitely takes the top pick. The lower atmospheric pressure really makes that magic in long haul flights.
But I'm getting some lousy connection times for my dates. Going to see if that'd work for the trip, but it's looking more and more likely to be taking the UA flight out to SFO. Direct is nice, but Air China's A330 to YVR is quite crappy from what I'm reading. And even though the UA global first is more like a glorified business class, I think it still beats the crappy Air China A330.
After searching hard for better award spots to no avail, I've set my trip next month.
YVR-SFO-PEK-TAO-ICN-TPE-YVR in a mix of F/J/Y
Really wanted to do YVR-PEK instead of re-routing via SFO, but only CA is available and angle-flat business class is a pain at this age. Not to mention I have to get right to work after landing. So, SFO it is and I get to visit my family in Bay Area in the purposely selected 21hr layover.
Another reason of going to SFO is to experience UA F (yes I know, it's a glorified business class) in 747-400. I've always loved the design of 747, or the queen in the sky as I call it, and this would be the last hurrah before UA (or most airlines for that matter) retires 747 for good. I've only been in UA F on a 777, and only J in 747, so if I ever want to get that elusive "1A" seat on a 747, now is probably the last chance.

I'd post some pics after I come back.
What are you flying TPE to YVR? I hope not BR. That plane is god awful.
Why not wait until seats open up T-14 and do TPE-SFO-YVR? BR J is nice.

I know the 747 sucks monkey ball. But I didn't want to do any layover on the way back. So, 747 it is.

On a related note. 24 hours until my first transpac flight in J Class! Can't wait to try these seats out:
And this snack bar!
It is on China Airlines new 777-300 service from SFO to TPE =D
The new CI 777 is beautiful, hard-wise better than BR IMO, but BR's 777 J still wins when taking everything into consideration (PJ, Rimowa pack, real champagne... the whole 9-yard. It's basically a mix of J and F together).
Would you be departing TPE in any of the Skyteam members in J? The new CI lounge in TPE is incredible.
We are pleased to announce that we will be having an additional three flights between Vancouver and Hong Kong, using the new state-of-the-art Airbus 350-900XWB aircraft, beginning on March 28, 2017!
This marks the first ever A350-900 to operate anywhere in Canada. It will feature our refreshed Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class cabins and passengers will have access to inflight Wi-Fi as well.

Came back from this trip. Wow the 777 on CI was definitely as pretty as it looks in pictures. The staff were obviously very proud of their new plane. I was filming the snack bar on my gopro and they went out of their way to turn on their lights, get everything in order, labels facing out etc.
Oddly enough, didnt' get much sleep in J. Might be my first time in lie-flats. Got more sleep on the way home on JL's SkyWider II product in economy.
BR TPE-SFO is world's better than TPE-YVR. The TPE-SFO J is AWESOME on the 777 with reverse herringbone seats and true lie flat. The TPE-YVR route is an old 747 with angled seats from what feels like the 80s. They're just awful.
