ek9 type R with EL front end at dealer
 

Hey Guys, saw this civic type R with EL front end at a dealership, does anyone know details about this car? I know that there's an accident for sure. color doesnt match. but is just wondering if the all mighty RS have more info on this car onto what happened to it previously? owner claims that it came from japan with the EL front end. Everything else looks good, just the front end looks like crap... if my friend does get it, that EL front end is coming out and 99 spec type R front end is going back in. but would still like to know if rs has more info

Yea i talked to the guy who imported in when he owned it. He said he paid around $3k for it at auction, imported it himself. Front end was not white when I saw him, so it was recently painted. Km are high (198 or something) and condition isn't great...

Not worth 10k.

Wrecked w/ the DOMANI EL front, looks a lot shittier now w/ that whole front end.

plus if your friend is swapping on an ek9 front end that's another $800-900 at least, and paint might not be perfect.

Ask if you can see the japanese auction sheet, they'll have it if they imported it themselves. I bet you it is 'R' rating

You can find a cleaner ctr for 10k. Spend your money else where!

How come you posted it in latest pic of your whip thread with the caption "new addition to the stable" then ninja edited it to "should I?" Now your friend is planning on getting it? Thats weird dude. Regardless of how weird that is though, I wouldn't buy a crashed 10k ctr from a kia (or whatever it is) dealership.

My friend saw an ek9 rear end some one in Richmond so we think this might be that car

seller had originally listed this for $7900 then deleted it within hours
don't bother buying used JDM that just arrived..unless you ask for auction sheet and pay at cost :nyan:

I remember OP got called out few years ago for listing a GS-R much higher than what he paid for with no additional work/parts on top lol

car had a regular CTR front end when it first appeared on the KIA lot. its not every day to see a rhd CTR... so I notice these things.

I worked at the Nissan next door, so I used to see that car on a day to day basis. I believe someone that works there owned it.

One random day, saw the car appear on the lot with the EL front end.... unpainted. It was totally wtf. that was around two months ago or so.

And if it really is the one with higher kms... I know which shop did the provincial inspection as well. Saw the car on the hoist (under side was quite clean actually)

Seems to me that only a moron would do that. Plus that cheap looking MUGEN style lip. SUPER WTF.

Walk away, let some other sucker buy it. Car is worth $4k tops.
You can buy a better used EK hatch thats a local car than this mishmash of crap and mismatched paint.

Honda Domani has clear corners this has amber corners so it's an el headlights, could very well be just a el front end as its cheaper
