That's looking a lot more exotic than the run of the mill Stingray... :ahwow: But kind of riced out OEM style at the same time...

If that's what the people want, I guess. :suspicious:

Wait, shouldn't this be called the Z07?

If the Z0whatever has 620hp/650tqs, wtf kind of monster is the ZR1 going to be? :megusta:

AVS_Racing 01-11-2014 11:06 AM

I think the front end looks great, better than the rear; the tail lights remind me of the previous Camaro lights.

BBMme 01-11-2014 01:42 PM

Now my expectation for the ZR1 is going to be pretty high haha

why? is it because it's a C7?

a lot of people thought S2000 was because of year 2000, not the displacement of engine.
Same goes with Shelby GT500, people thought it's a 500 because of 500hp.

Is that an auto or a DCT in the Z06?

BoostedBB6 01-11-2014 02:36 PM

From another forum.

- 8L90E 8-Speed Automatic available! Only 620+ hp car so equipped
- Steel torque tube replaced with woven c/f
- 60% more rigid chassis, with roof on, than C6 Z06
- 2.2" wider front track
- 3" wider rear track
- Wheel and tire sizes from C6 ZR1
- 3 levels, with varying degrees of aero downforce, with the Z07 version having more d/f than any production car GM's tested in their wind tunnel
- Compact 1.7L supercharger capable of 20,000 rpm and 9.5 psi of boost
- Pre-production versions set lap records @ Milford, beating ZR1 lap times

well shit, that looks pretty awesome. While the Corvette has always had great power numbers, innovative exterior design with matching quality, it has always suffered from it's shitty interior with poor fitment and overall cheapness. They seem to improve every year but it's never enough to catch up and match the exterior and performance.

I had an '01 C5 Z06 back in '02 and the interior just pissed me off. The car was pretty fun to drive and you could get into trouble quickly but the goddamn Cavalier steering wheel and radio just annoyed the shit outta me considering the price tag. I ditched it after 2 months because I couldn't get over it. I've been considering a C6 ZR1(hopefully the C7 while help reduce the C6 pricing) lately but the fucking steering wheel is the same and Cruze and it pisses me just like it did over a decade ago. LOL. Talk about holding a grudge. I wanna love everything about it but just can't get over the interior hurdle. Fuck.

so the Z06 is supercharged? What will be the point of the ZR1 then? bigger S/C? And an even wider track? Damn the C6 Z06 barely fit into a lane, this one will be too wide for parking spots lol

8L90E 8-Speed Automatic is it a Dual clutch? I tried searching it but no luck.

I believe it's still torque converter based:
