I've been waiting for the next Ronald Moore TV show, since BSG ended. I thought this should would be awesome, but instead, I found it awful. It's too sci-fi.

BSG was great because it was believable and realistic. Rarely did I think to myself "that's not real, that would never happen, that's stupid". When watching Helix, I think that so often. Like the scene where they turn on the gas, the actual wall panel glows red behind it. Really? Turning a nozzle changes the color of some dry wall? That's so stupid.

You would think an outbreak of a "virus" involving the CDC would be the perfect setup for a realistic drama, but instead, they went full sci-fi and gave every character half a brain.

That dark-haired butch CDC doctor who got attacked in the shower. She's supposed to be a professional right? At least 5 years with the CDC? She gets attacked, infected too, and says shit all for like 5 hours. 5 hours while she walks around accusing the other girl of being infected. 5 hours possibly spreading her shit to everyone else.

If monkeys are the key to transmitting the disease to humans, and they found monkey hair in a drain, then shouldn't the be suspicious of their possibly tainted water supply now?

And the elevator music, the cherry on an already crappy scene. Let's lessen the drama with more ridiculously unfitting music.
