I remember in 94' when my mom wanted to upgrade her 91' Supra to the new spec, and it was close to $65k from Langley Toyota. She bought a 7 series BMW instead...
Langley Toyota sat on that Supra for years. If I remember correct, they had it after the Supra had stopped being imported. Thanks to a low Canadian dollar, and a high yen at the time, the Supra was a victim of the financial markets.

ouch. choosing a 7-series over a supra... which one is worth more now?

Other than a 16 y/o hypa not getting to rip around in his mom's auto Supra, it wasn't too much of a loss
She loved the 7 series and had it for years, until some old lady crashed into it in Bellingham when she mistook the gas for the brake pedal. She destroyed that car. That said the mk4 wasn't a "mom's car". She would have put a ton of miles on it, changed the oil every 10,000km and generally would have driven it into the ground.

Toyota just released the updated exterior and interior FT1 for Pebble Beach. Looks quite good also it would share powertrain with the next BMW Z4. So I think it is likely it will have torque filling tech like i8 etc. I don't know how they would price it though.. the i8 is not exactly expensive, 130k.
I love the simplistic interior.. no huge LCD to distract driver while driving in the dark.
worried that the bean counters will make it end up like this when it is finally released (from facebook)...

i don't know man... they tone down the corolla from the concept just enough that it doesn't really look that exciting.. i hope they don't do that with the new supra.. lol...
Doesn't look that different to me, besides a flashy colour, some wheels and some minor changes. The FT-1 still needs a little bit of toning down anyhow.
