I recommend the OP doesn't make an injury statement to ICBC until a week after the incident. Soft tissue damage might not appear for a few days. I felt fine after my semi serious accident but two days later I could barely crawl out of bed.

Suing for mental anguish because you will drive more cautiously is dumb as stated by numerous people above. If I was running ICBC, I would take away the license of anyone who claimed they were emotionally distraught from the accident. Make them go through the licensing program again to ensure they are mentally capable of driving again.

i've been meaning to go to the vancouver automind location but you have to be there at the right time to find street parking.

there are so many locations i don't know what to recommend for craftsmen. the only one i know of is the one across from docksteader because the dealer recommended them and the paint work was not great IMO (eg. fisheyes and chunk of body filler sticking out of corner of window seal).

Good experiences I've had
No 1 collision
Richmond Autobody

Goodluck, hopefully you can get a nice loaner/rental to beat the shit out of in the meantime lol. If you have a good relationship with your service advisor maybe ask him who their dealership uses

After reading through a lot of reviews, I have decided on grand performance auto centre in Richmond.

I just called them and will bring car in tmr. They told me there were closing soon.
I hope everything will be fine when they're done repairs

I know someone stayed away from Boyd earlier in the thread, however i've had two very good experiences with the location near the Mazda dealer on Kingsway in burnaby.

Update.

Took car into Grand Performance in Richmond.
Staff was very nice. Even gave me a business card for an injury lawyer they recommend. Got a courtesy car while they do repairs.
Gave me a quick run down of what will happen and told me it would take at least 10 days to fix.

I do suggest you open up an injury claim. I don't know exactly how it works but when I got into my accident I hurt my knee on impact but by the end of the day it was gone. Nothing felt wrong until 3 months later it started bugging me. 3 years later my knee still bugs me but there's nothing I can do as I never opened one ;/

I'm not saying sue anyone but if u can have smthn open incase something pops up, always good to have I guess

i was rear ended at the end of june 2013. it was a very minor one. i was stopped and the green light came and i went and the guy behind me rear ended me. i didn't feel much back pain, at best it was a stiff back. now, they are sharp pains and occurs quite frequently.

if you notice any pain at all, let your icbc handler know and go see your doc. icbc would want to settle quick, but don't settle. you have 2 years to settle from date of accident. give it some time to make sure you aren't hurt. it is not always apparent at first.

It couldn't have been something you did in that 3 months that hurt your knee?

I can see maybe no knowing for a week or two, but 3 months seems a bit extreme. I am no doctor so I could be completely wrong, but whenever I injured myself (it has happened quite often over the past 5 years, everything from a shoulder, knee, ankle, wrist, and both hands), i felt that something was wrong within the next couple days. If it wasn't immediate that is...

Hey OP,

I got into an accident in July/Aug of 2013 so I sort of understand the process. Since it's not your fault, they will give you the okay to go to any body shop and get the repairs you need without meeting an adjuster right away. I chosed Cosmo Auto Body as someone suggested them to me. Repairs were done well.

So you plan to get checked up which is the right step. Tissue injuries don't usually appear right away. You have two years from the date of the accident to file any complaints. However, it's better to do it sooner than later. You are entitled to a certain amount of covered physio / RMT treatment. Ask your doctor for a referral.

Eventually your ICBC case adjustor will contact you asking about injuries, time off work, etc.. They will try to pressure you to close the case early; ICBC is not your friend. Just remember to close your case when YOU feel ready: you're pain free, body is healthy and car is repaired.

Came back from doctor.
I had some minor back pain and tingling sensations in left hand.
Told me that it was from muscle soreness from sleeping ackwardly. Guessed when I got hit, more impact went against my left side.
They expect me to make full recovery. They documented everything just incase it might unlikely get worst.
Grip strength was surprisingly strong lol.
