| $9998 2015 Nissan Micra - Cheapest New Car in Canada Quote:
Originally Posted by Autoblog Canadians looking for a brand-new car on the cheap, take note. This is the 2015 Nissan Micra, and it will arrive at dealerships this spring boasting a starting price of $9,998 Canadian dollars (circa $9,100 US), well under the $11,898 asked for a 2014 Versa Sedan.
Of course, that ultra-low asking price isn't for a fully loaded model. The Micra will arrive in the Great White North in three trims - S, SV and SR - with the buyer's choice of a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. A 109-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder is the sole engine choice. There will also be a number of accessory options that should allow some personalization for the small cars, with Nissan claiming that things like door handle finishers and mirror caps will be available in five different colors (plus chrome) for under $200.
"At Nissan, we understand the need in Canada for small, urban-friendly cars that are fun to drive and express their driver's personality. With Micra, we're delivering a proven global vehicle at a very attractive price – it's going to make a huge impact on the market," said Christian Meunier, the President of Nissan Canada.
Take a look below for the press blast from Nissan's Canadian outfit, and US readers, don't hold your breath for this one – there are no plans to bring the Micra to America." | |

I'm not really into super small cars but at this price for a brand new car with warranty, I would consider buying one even though I'm in the market for something that cost 3-8 times more. Posted via RS Mobile |

you get what you pay for.
i recently had to hire a car in europe, got a citroen 107 - biggest piece of shit around, horrible to drive, everything about it was shite (it's actually a huge seller in europe, makes me really appreciate being able to afford a nicer car than that) - i'd rather buy a $20K car with +/- 50k kms, 3 years old for about $10K ish (3-5 year old entry level cars lose about 40-50% of their value), and most cars come with a 5-10 year warranty these days (especially kias and hyundais) so you're still relatively protected.
cheap cars are cheap for a reason - guaranteed it's flymsy, ratty, and shit

definitely a yes for this interior.
9998 will probably come with nothing, a fully equipped I guess the price will be jacked up to 15K or 16K

I had a Versa as a rental once with 5,000km on it. What a complete piece of shit. I can only imagine this being worse.
On the flip side, if you are looking for just a turn-key get up and go kind of city car, and don't care about the little things, I don't see why not.

Wouldn't mind driving one if it means spending as little money as possible...
But that opinion is bound to change once I drive it. None of these little econoboxes are made for long-distance highway cruising.

It probably drives less shit if it doesn't have the CVT the Versa has.

I've been reading reviews on the Chevy Spark and even though it's been getting good reviews, the general community isn't very accepting of it. That car is priced around $15k.
This car would be great in the urban areas. Car share programs, courier delivery vehicles, hipster startup tax write offs. But you can't help wonder how disposable it is and if it would fail before you made all your payments.

remember the tradition of the old 80s Micra? That's right, you got them in Canada but it wasn't sold in USA...
so the tradition continues.

Buddy use to own a Nissan Micra back in the day. This car is good for people who are clueless about cars or brag they they bought a new car. Better off buying a used Civic.

I don't know I think the previous march was pretty damn distinctive.
and for what it costs it's not half bad to drive, comes with warranty and all. Drove it briefly in Japan...

Looks like the Mitsubishi Mirage has some competition now.
For me, I'd probably spend a bit more and get a Ford Fiesta.

honestly this seems like a good idea for people who just need a vehicle, and hopefully will replace all smart cars. i mean seriously, 14k starting price for a "car" that imo is pretty shit in all ways
