Since we so often call out bad dealers I thought I would call out a great experience my brother just had buying his CX-5 from Wolfe Langley Mazda today. He'd been looking for a CX-5 for a couple months and couldn't get a good price so tried these guys a bit further out.
He made a call to the sales guy and dealt with him over email after that. The sales guy was able to immediately offer a price that beat the price of all the other dealers he had spoken to by over a grand. Adding in an above CBB value on his trade-in and he paid nearly $2K less with no negotiation required.
At the dealer there was no pressure to signup for any additional services like rustproofing etc. They offered it, let him say no and that was that. Were it not for the insurance guy being tied up with another customer we would have been in and out in about an hour.
The dealer didn't have the all-weather mats he had ordered so they upgraded the mats to the deep dish ones for free and when they realized that the wheel locks had not been added on they offered to buy him a free tank of gas when he came back next week to pick them up (the sales manager also came over to apologize for the error).
All in all, a really impressive experience - he saved a bundle, didn't have to negotiate and felt no pressure to buy any extra services.
Other dealers he dealt with: Signature Mazda (meh), West Coast Mazda (not bad), Freeway Mazda (never got back to him).
Special call out to Metrotown Mazda for being a horrible dealer. Our family has bought 4 cars from them and they had the highest price, wasted 45 mins of his time evaluating his trade-in and had a douchey salesman who paid his requests no heed. Had a great opportunity to close a deal just by matching West Coast Mazda's price but took 2 days to respond and said only "No thanks."
Metrotown Mazda is definitely never getting any more business from us.
