Clarkson could probably punch a puppy and people would still want Top Gear back on the air, myself included. I simply don't care about people that get offended by every little thing and I hate that the BBC is always afraid of these people.

underscore 03-12-2015 10:50 PM

^ I can kind of understand why, being a government-run channel and all. But at the same time bending over for every whiny idiot isn't a very British thing to do.

StylinRed 03-13-2015 01:33 AM

so here's a story from a witness

I'll get you fired! What Clarkson ranted at Top Gear producer during 30-minute f-word tirade as it emerges that he turned HIMSELF in over hotel fracas | Daily Mail Online

supposedly there was dinner, but not hot dinner (JC wanted a steak) as the cook had already left for the night...and JC was already in a bad mood as this family had asked for a picture before his explosion and he said 'no' as he's had a bad day

and the article also says that Clarkson had reported himself to the BBC and wasn't reported by the producer

Harvey Specter 03-13-2015 02:42 AM

So the hearing might be today, TG back on Sunday?

underscore 03-13-2015 07:53 AM

^ they film on Wednesdays, so probably not.

Being that the guy is a producer I have a feeling he may have been fucking up more than just dinner that day, but we'll see.

yray 03-13-2015 08:07 AM

what if all this is for a special episode :suspicious:

Harvey Specter 03-13-2015 12:50 PM

Supposedly this Sunday's episode was one of those 3 car specials.

Info on 2 of the 3 remaining episodes had they aired. From Wikipedia

Quote:

Episode 8, The trio go for a drive in the countryside in classic convertibles: (Fiat 124 Spider • MGB GT • Peugeot 304 Cabriolet), Car Reviews: Subaru WRX STi • VW Golf R, SIARPC: Gary Lineker

Episode 9, The trio are challenged to each purchase a second hand SUV on the cheap and see who got the best deal. Also, Jeremy is on and off the track in a trio of luxurious limousines. SIARPC: Henry Cavill
Just like the rest of this season, these last few episodes look like they would have been great.

brrrz 03-13-2015 02:46 PM

Would have liked to see the STI vs Golf R comparison

Top Gear 'will not be scrapped' if Clarkson is sacked
Clarkson says it might be time to "move on" as Insiders suggest the show will go on even if he does not return to Top Gear following his 'fracas' with a producer

Top Gear 'will not be scrapped' if Clarkson is sacked - Telegraph

I'm sorry but you can't replace the main cast and expect the same viewership. Viewers of TG watch TG because of the PRESENTERS, you replace them and TG becomes the next TG America or TG Australia and we all know what happen to both those shows.

The show has been running since the 70's. They may lose a lot of viewers but the show will go on.

Wonder if this is true

No, Jeremy Clarkson hasn't quit Top Gear yet

If he does leave the show I can imagine the BBC will have a tough time keeping Top Gear's audience around. Despite the fact they have a number of other pretty good shows they're completely different than TG. I read an article earlier today that likened TG to a pizza joint and Doctor Who to an Indian restaurant. Both may be good but if the pizza joint closes, it'll be a tough sell trying to get them into the Indian restaurant. Two separate shows, two separate tastes.

SkinnyPupp 03-15-2015 04:06 AM

I'd still watch it without Clarkson - May and Hammond play well off each other. But if all three leave, forget it.

Not like girls who hole grudges until the end of time. People today are getting so soft.

sorry, dustups over food?
if they were really buddies and just horse playing I think this wouldn't have escalated this far.
He needs to stop acting like Kanye. An exaggeration but I can just picture a scene from an old mob film where Joe Pesci or Ray Liotta with a bad coke habit kicks the living shit out of some poor sap for saying the wrong thing. Doesn't matter if it's happened multiple times or he's starving after a full day of shooting.

Clarkson is obviously the centerpiece but he won't make or break the show for me.

Meh, none of us was there or truly knows what happened... People fight about everything... I punched a good friend out one afternoon cuz he was being a dick for no reason and pulled me off my new bike and the bike got scratched. Pretty silly, but maybe it was some build up of other things and this particular food incident just became the flashpoint for boiling over.

The fact the producer has never complained publicly about it says a lot.

Klondike 03-16-2015 02:10 AM

mfw no tg last night

He didn't say anything because he was probably afraid he would lose his job.

68style 03-16-2015 07:22 AM

Haha yah right the bbc would fire someone the public knows was a victim already...
