That ending was a tad disappointing for what is the last episode of Top Gear as we know it |
I think the stability from Series 2 of the 2002 reboot onwards has created enough familiarity that I'm uncomfortable or unwilling to invest my time exploring a new variant. I'm an old man now and will stick to whatever the JC, RH and JM are able to create with ITV. |
for me it's the presenters and not the show that is primary for me. it's like if they replaced all the actors in your favorite tv show... it's just not the same. because of that i'll also be following sunfighter's lead. |
"Goodbye." I seriously teared up a bit. I've watched Top Gear for the majority of my life. These three idiots have been some of my biggest influences. I know they'll be back but...still, an era is over and I'm reminded how old I am. |
bah. save the tears (lol). if the rumors are true you will be seeing them again on something like netflix and top gear will by a bygone memory  |
I feel you, Ronin. :) |
The wheels on clarkson's truck... :fuckyea: |

My tribute that was the saddest I have seen those two in that last episode.. sad end to the greatest program to ever hit a television set. lots of people are talking about who can replace them. Sure Evans, chris harris, sabine, tiff. however when i watch a show, any show, I want to be entertained. And even though my life revolves around cars in business and pleasure aspect. i dont care about the car stats, or the barrage of figures and specs, when i watch a car show. I remember watching the very first episode of top gear USA and they had three lamborginis, all of the most exciting cars in my opinion, and i turned the episode off half way Clarkson and the kids have made a car review entertaining to people who dont care about cars, or how fast they go or how much horsepower they have. so whenever i invite anyone to watch this show, they are taken by it, even though they dont care about cars or driving. The boys made you feel what they were feeling. that's a gift. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psaukaag4e.jpg My friend made me this when i bought my new XF http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...ps43909pnr.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psir2t2rax.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psfunezcy7.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psg1khqwfc.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...pshlnlqrxl.jpg This was one of my own, when BBC suspended clarkson http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psugdpulpd.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...ps2zvdqb1b.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...ps48qqjhhc.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psxoiq4ojv.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...ps6gi4w8po.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psp50e1xow.png http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y43...psomnvgjjh.jpg This was the other one i made when clarkson was suspended I've never looked more forward to a Sunday, no more...:tears: |
Just watched the episode and I have to admit, it was pretty good as usual. Sure it wasn't the best but I think it was a decent end to the series as we know it. As to the Chris Evans reboot I think I'll try watching it, but I'm not expecting it to be as good as "the" Top Gear we've come to know and love. I've heard different stories about where JC, RH and JM are going, whether it be to ITV or Netflix. I think it would be a better idea to go to Netflix considering how lenient they seem to be about rules. It'll be almost like a "don't like it, don't watch it" deal. Of course you can say that about a TV channel but it's not like Netflix is a channel where only one show is on at any given time. If anyone bitches about it they could direct the blame to the viewer for selecting the show and watching it when there are however many TV shows or movies that are available that they could have watched instead. |
Wow the last episode pretty much proves that hammond and may can't carry top gear without jeremy. |
From what I've read, JC and boys are rumored to be going with ITV for UK viewers so they can put their new show head to head with the "new" TG and than they're in talks Netflix to distribute the same show worldwide. Basically a double pay day. |

they're good, its just that they're trying to be/are somber |
i wanna see JC run a lap time on the new TG show, if he was every invited back as a "Star in a reasonably priced car" :troll: i wish May would make another season of toy show which he hosted a few years ago, that was great |
^ Toy Stories was an excellent show, I just got around to watching it a month or so back. Quote:

^^ where they took over the Mima Gallery in the north.. |
Looks like the E24 from the "2 door coupé for less than £1500 that isn't a Porsche" episode. Except I don't recall that scene, much less a Vauxhall Astra being in the episode. Edit: Nevermind, missed the above post :lol |
LOVED Mays Peugeot...absolute beauty. |
Amazon Video eh |
Would've preferred Netflix.. |
I have amazon prime...but I still don't use the amazon video app... the app is crap and the exclusives are meeeeh -_- |
YES. I don't care what it's on. The important thing is the boys are back. Amazon apparently gave them complete creative control. |
