I've been watching TG and TGT back to back. Conclusion:
TG is a car show that happens to be very entertaining.
TGT is an entertainment show that happens to feature cars.
I like them both about equally from this last season. TG has stepped it up and doesn't take a back seat in my mind.

Fingers crossed they've dumped "Celebrity Brain Crash" and bring back a little more focus on cars, no more time-wasting "Special Forces" episodes. I wouldn't even mind if they kept "The American" even though his "if it's not a V8 it's garbage" routine got a bit predictable.

The American and the travelling tent are both gone!
Related to this thread. Anyone watching Chris Harris on Cars? Maybe the best car review show out there. Hes a great presenter and a good driver too, glad to see they gave him his own show to run again that is simply about the cars.
Also anyone see the new top gear america? How did that show even make it to air? Someone along the way should have said just no lol

Too bad it isn't about flipping cars to lose money, I'm really good at that.

Agreed, definitely looks like they listened (from what we can see so far) to the fans and feedback about what to change ie. Axing the absolutely appalling American
I think it was on reddit they had to include all those things to legally differentiate themselves from Top Gear, as the BBC was just waiting to pounce on them with lawsuits.
Not that it wasn't stupid, but the producers must have known it was stupid and had to do it anyway.

I still think my comments in my earlier post are true.
After sitting on it longer I'll say the TG is really zoning in on their new formula and it's TGT that needs to change. It needs to revolve around the actual cars a bit more. Right now it's all about the hosts.
Don't forget that Season 2 of Grand Tour starts tomorrow! So fire up your Amazon Prime account or check out your favorite torrent site (no, bad you! That's illegal! [ /lawyer talk])!
For those curious, this first episode is supposed to include a segment about Hammond's crash in the Rimac Concept One.
Its already up and running on Prime Video. Not sure why/how but maybe its to do with times zones etc...
