I'm more of an American muscle kind of car guy but I can appreciate Japan for all it's uniqueness and passion. I actually can't wait to watch this episode..
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

Interesting point that Amazon's goal is to leverage media content to sell Prime subscriptions and then sell people more stuff on their website, the media content attracts people into the Amazon online retail ecosystem. If the show doesn't make money on it's own merit, it may survive based on it's ability to create loyal customers for the online retail business. Case in point - me, I signed up for Prime because of TGT. I'm well aware that I could have torrented it but I figured what the hell, might as well get all of the other Prime benefits and not have to eff around DL'ing TGT torrents. Now I get free 2 day shipping which makes me more likely to shop more often online with Amazon.
So back to the question, why are they not renewing it?
I take it that you didn't read the article in Jalopnik that was linked earlier in the thread?
quoted from the article:
"Amazon has allegedly decided that the car-shenanigan trio of Clarkson, Hammond, and May will not return for a fourth season. According to The Daily Mail’s sources, the show’s leading men will all be looking for work in the near future. (Update: Amazon won’t comment, but another source cast some doubt on the report.)"
and then a further update added after the article in Jalopnik was published:
"Update: 2:32 p.m. EST: Amazon declined to officially comment, but a source within the company indicated that this rumor might be baseless after all."
the original article Jalopnik was quoting was in the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail doesn't rank too far above the National Enquirer for factual reporting.
So back to the question, the answer is that the Daily Mail article was written from what appears to be a baseless rumour.
So I watched the Japan episode, which I loved, with a native Japanese person and I was super disappointed to find out everything was totally faked... she said the number plates for the Skyline and RX-7 were for rental cars not from auction Etc just that so many things were staged... I mean you know it is to a certain degree but I was disappointed they didn’t really buy auction cars and other details like that.
Sad to read LeBlanc is leaving he’s the most natural one by far
I actually prefer Top Gear to TGT. It’s a car show with entertainment.
TGT is an entertainment show with cars.
Sure, TG needs some revisions but I think it’s a worthwhile show. Sad to hear Matt is leaving. They need to uncork Harris and let him do his thing. They’re having him play a character role too much.
I went up to a cute chick and asked her if she'd let me take a photo of her for $30 she slapped me, she said to me that "I AIN'T A WHORE!"
But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".
OH FUCK YOU OH OH OOOOH~

the cars are friggin epic, but what's with this dimly lit shady ass warehouse? you think the guy with this kind of money would invest more in the aesthetics of this garage and some god damn lighting.

Just started watching grand tour's new season. I think they've found their groove again, the road trips have been great, it doesn't feel like it's super "scripted" like previous seasons and they've removed most of the cringy elements (only on episode 4 though)
