Yeah, It definitely got boring towards the end. The track system was a dumb idea but i guess they did it to be more entertaining. I was also hoping they had a back up car that no one wanted.
It sucks to wait so long for these specials to be released and then end up being so-so
I'm curious why he didn't just stick it in 1st and limp it without a clutch pedal. Unless he actually blew up more than just the pedal system.
with what they were trying to get over, he needed a clutch, just dogging it in 1st wouldn't have gotten him very far, need reverse and the ability to slow down and stop and pick a line. Rest of the car was undoubtedly just as fucked though, i imagine there was several reasons it wasn't going to work.
Too bad it isn't about flipping cars to lose money, I'm really good at that.

There's a number of conventional cars that pull shit like this too... I'm on some Porsche groups on Facebook and the topics that come up when people have dead batteries trying to get in their cars or access the battery location are hilarious!
Tesla took it to a next level though, and it's extra frustrating because it literally has a giant fully charged battery inside it lol...
You'd think Tesla with all their OS tech would have a "Vacay mode" or something you can park it in where it would give off some of the main battery's charge to the 12V battery, something like that.
What a terrible design, the fact that it has a charger for that battery but shuts it off based on the drivetrain battery status makes it even more idiotic.
I'm struggling to see why it has a 12V battery at all tbh. All this engineering and design work into the fancy lithium batteries that they keep bragging about the longevity of but you're still relying on a crappy conventional battery that has a 5-10 year lifespan. If it took May an hour to get to the terminals, just how long does it take to actually replace it?

Yup, I remember watching a youtube video where they bought a Boxster from an auction for $500 and it had a dead battery. They had to jump the fuse box inside the cabin to get the hood to pop open.
The manual emergency hood release was disabled by the previous owner or something like that.

I'm curious if Model 3 and Y have this same design, or if this was done only on the earlier Model S and (I'm guessing) model X.
The worst part wasn't even that the car let the 12V battery die, but accessing it to charge it up is an ordeal!
There is a place to get access to the frunk from outside of the vehicle if the 12v dies on the model 3 so you can pop the hood and get access to the battery. I'm not sure but I would imagine it would be in the same spot on the Y.
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

Top Gear is set to be axed after 46 years, according to reports. BBC bosses are thought to have made the "tough decision" following the crash which almost killed presenter Andrew Freddie Flintoff.
Now sources say there is "no way it can continue" after the horror smash last year and that production staff had been debating the show's future for the last ten months.
Father-of-four Freddie was left with facial injuries and broken ribs. He was driving at 130mph in an open-topped three-wheeled Morgan Super 3, when it flipped over at the Dunsfold Park Aerodrome in Surrey last December.
He wasn't wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. This meant that his face was in direct contact with the ground. "
