Just finished watching the last episode. Its really well done and ends full circle with these 3 blokes who've been a part of our lives for over 20 years.

Gonna miss these guys. I doubt they will get together for another one of these specials after this, as they are just too old (especially clarkson and may) to produce this kind of work

I gotta say I teared up a bit. Not a lot of shenanigans, mostly these guys just reminiscing about their time.

If I don't watch it then it never really ended for me right? lol:crybaby:

Yup. End of an amazing run.

So they did end up going the northern route as I thought, but they skipped the really nasty road by going on Kariba. We did the same thing on a ferry (but in reverse).

Those sardine or Kapenta boats are absolutely piles of garbage. I'm told they have a 1L 1 cylinder chineese made engine that are started by hand. It's not uncommon for the starting handle to snap backwards and break an arm. Good luck trying to get that sorted out as a poor fisherman in the middle of nowhere.

Finished it yesterday.

I must say, I really miss the old Top Gear format with different segments, mini challenges, guest stars, F1 driver lap times, Stig, etc. I know they tried some of that at the start of TGT that didn't seem to migrate well. Those old TG seasons hit different.

I found myself scraping YouTube for more content after my first pass at the episode.

Here's an interview and a Q&A I found - I'm guessing Amazon is saving the full interview for a later release.

Same here. I found the grand tour kinda boring. I liked when they drove around europe/north america in supercars instead of classic cars.

Just finished it last night. Pretty boring,. not going to lie, the series went out with a wimper and not a bang. The funniest part was when they launched the beetle off the hill, otherwise it was just them driving around "here's some views, here's some rough dirt road, here's some views again, here's some more rough dirt road" rinse/repeat. They didn't goof off quite nearly enough like they used to.

Badhobz 09-17-2024 09:13 AM

but thats them.. thats the same formula since the first Botswana special. I really liked it.

Just listening to these 3 yammer about cars, play pranks on each other, and the scripted incompetence reminds me of my youth.
