Was able to watch via PIA's UK London server. I barely let it buffer, no lag. Also I turned off PIA after a minute or two and I was able to skip ahead and it would load up and continue playing while off PIA. Unless within that minute or two literally, it had buffered the whole episode.

are we supposed to be forming pilgrimages and prostrate ourselves in front of this statue like he is some sort of helmeted godlike figure? :lol

Some say the Stig can take the form of a giant statue

The majority of the episode was filmed in standard 16:9. The Lambo segment was filmed in either cinematic 2.39:1 or 21:9 ratio. It's just to give it a more dramatic look.

One of Top Gear's editing styles is where a film/segment starts off in a wider ratio (usually with soft airy music), which then opens up to 16:9 ratio for dramatic effect.

I was expecting a music change along with the usually opening up to the 16:9 ratio for said dramatic effect during the Lambo review but it never happened. Like you said they've used that edit trick in the past such as the MP412C review and the 458 but it stuck to the letterbox ratio.

I prefer Hammond's review segments over Clarkson's and May's...and I don't agree with him that the Huracan looks tame. I don't like its rear end but hey it's functional so I can't fault the carmakers.

Tegra_Devil 01-26-2015 05:04 PM

hhnnnnngggg I cant wait till they review the NSX

I always watch them, I've discovered some very funny people I never would have otherwise thanks to TG.

are those the tears of timpo i hear hitting the ground after that drag race...?

vexor 02-02-2015 06:16 AM

Did anyone else notice towards the end of the episode how much dust was inside the cabins of the cars?

I wonder if it was from them constantly opening the doors and windows or if the dust is so fine that it got past the cabin filter.

SkinnyPupp 02-02-2015 06:22 AM

Cool episode, watched it with my wife since nothing else aired last night, and she enjoyed it.

Even the star was an actual star instead of some BBC geek

boostfever 02-02-2015 09:44 AM

the hill climb was awesome and hilarious with the Stig. :)

Ronin 02-02-2015 10:47 AM

They haven't had too many no name stars show up for the hot lap in years.

Except for when they have a new car and call a bunch of less famous people. Except for Rachel Riley and Jack Whitehall, everyone on the current lap board is a recognizable name and the previous leaderboard with the Kia Cee'd is full of big names.

And it's weird to see Kiefer Sutherland so cheerful when we're used to watching him yell "TELL ME NOW!!!!!" while choking out some turrurists.

donjalapeno 02-02-2015 02:18 PM

What a machine that M6 is....it looks so beast. I loved how when the camera was on the M6 through the big dust cloud all you see is the white angel eyes :sweetjesus:
