uFile Voucher

It's tax time again. Use the code X2U5BT18KW in the payment screen to get $3.99 off.

+1 for Studio Tax. Third year in a row using it, and I haven't had any problems!

Can you provide more details? What did Studio Tax miss?

Alby 03-29-2014 07:05 PM

not too sure what they missed. i punched in all the info into Studio Tax like i had in uFile. when i did the math when i saw my return and my spouse owing, the return differed and was less than what uFile generated.

I would maybe use a 3rd program to triple check. I typically use 2 programs and make sure the numbers are the same. This year I used Studiotax and Simpletax and it was the same down to the cent. The last thing you want is to file a return and get back more than you are supposed to or vice versa. Should only take you 5-10 mins to triple check.

just redid it again using H&R Blocks free tax software. theirs and studio tax were exactly the same. uFile still generated a bigger return. not sure what uFile is doing thats not being done in the other softwares.

^^
Yea that's interesting, I hate these situations because it can be hard to figure out why and you don't want to get burned one way or another. Was the difference significant like hundreds or are we talking under $100 here?

+1 for Studio Tax, been using it for years and the return has always been accurate for me.

tool001 04-01-2014 09:42 AM

i usually use ufile, to calculate refund/owing, then use studio tax to complete return, and just make sure all numbers /forms are entered same.

uFile generated a return of about 2300$ for me and my spouse. other softwares generated seperate files give gave me a return of about 2250$ and my spouse owing of about 290$. so the difference is about 300$ in return.
