The point of a car is to move you from one place to another, you can still do that after altering the suspension, but there is a point where all you have is a useless hunk of shit.

I used to think that rendering your vehicle useless was cool, but then I learned that a decent fitting wheel and a conservative amount of lowering is the best of both worlds.

This is fucking stupid

The major difference being that the first guy is entirely missing the point of owning a Z, and that floor boards are already hard enough to come by, dickhead.

The second i saw "Soundy" had posted in a thread regarding stance, i KNEW it was going to be a flexed out Jeep.

JSALES 03-20-2014 08:27 PM

I was thinking of getting my car real low but considering the way Vancouver roads are wasn't worth it

thats pretty sick how slammed it is, but the camber is stupid
but it doesn't matter what any of us think. its his money, and it makes him happy, nothing else matters

TouringTeg 03-20-2014 09:19 PM

I had a slammed (static) SC400 for a while with wide wheels/stretched tires and body kit. I had to avoid some parking lots and driveways. Even got it stuck much like the video. I was entering a relatively steep driveway on an angle and one rear wheel was slightly off the ground. Open diff so all the power went to the wheel with the least resistance.

It looked sick, but it got old really fast. My 2000 Acura RL was slammed but more manageable with no kit. I miss it.

Btw, there are laws in BC regarding wheels and tires protruding past the fenders as well as visible camber. Both are grounds for a VI.

It's like anything else, do/think/like whatever the fuck you want, so long as you're not negatively affecting anyone else. Driving with compromised suspension and on tires with contact patches rivaling a road bike makes your car a hazard.

lol Thanks man!

I sold the Lexus the way it was except it was on 18" 350Z touring wheels. It was in Victoria and then the owner sold it to a guy in the lower mainland. Curious what happened to it.

According to this thread, the suspension snapped, wheels got bent, and it in general just imploded in on itself...

Calbeee 03-21-2014 05:20 PM

EDIT: my bad i just realized i didnt go through the thread properly, got the wrong idea

Mr.Stubbz 03-21-2014 05:49 PM

you run bags though dont you? so you're really only that low when parked which doesnt affect anyone around you.

i think that most of the "hate" thats being thrown at the guy in the vid is that hes running a static stance with, lets be honest here, ridiculous camber

What used to annoy me (still does) is people who modify their cars in such a manner that they know they're vulnerable to VIs. Yet they have the gall to come in and complain on the forums, "fuck the popo they gave me a VI harsh harping on my stance buzz fuck the police notorious they got to know that, tupacc forever" or some BS.

It's always the early-to-mid 20s guys who I imagine have no concept about responsibility. You did that to your car knowing it would bring that attention, but you did it anyway, and then you're surprised and mad when it happens. :suspicious:

Not saying AME_VIP is that type of guy, but reading his post just brought it to my mind.

320icar 03-21-2014 06:48 PM

I have the same feeling about people that go 80 in a 50 and get caught, ticketed, and have the audacity to dispute it in hopes the officer doesn't show up
