2014 ' I'm going for a ride' thread

Hey guys, weather is getting better.
I can't remember if there already was a thread like this, but a new thread for a new season haha.

Post in here if you're up to ride, or if you're heading out soon and want to see if other people want to join you.

Best advice is to go to riding school, and then even more advanced riding school like A.C.T. Not saying you can't ride but I would rather up your survivability. Especially if you are new starting on a 600.

Raid3n 03-21-2014 09:33 AM

OK, let's keep this thread for its intended purpose. General advice should be directed to the "The maybe official quick motorcycle question/news not worthy of a new thread, thread"

I want to keep this specifically for organising rides.

On that note, I'll be out riding this afternoon, anyone care to join me?

I want to go for a Earnest Ice Cream run, just a quick grab a pint and go

Anyone up for the short ride? Im in Richmond, planning to go to the scoop shop on Fraser st.

Shoot me a text 604, number will be gone if I cancel or left already.

If you went to school and learned on a cruiser type of motorcycle... just be wary that the R6 doesn't have a very tight turning radius. :) You don't notice it doing normal left turns or right turns but I noticed it doing U-turns.

I learned on a CBR 125 and Rebel 250 at Pro Ride and I could bust u-turns on those things no problem. But when I first got the R6 (2003), I was surprised that my turning radius (on U-turns) is a little bit bigger and I had to be a bit more picky about where I do that maneuvre.

'03 R6 is the only thing I've ever ridden though so I don't know if the same can be said with newer versions or other sportbikes.

Raid3n 03-22-2014 12:41 PM

F4i has a bit of a boaty turning radius too lol. haven't tried to do many uturns yet though

Recon604 03-22-2014 12:59 PM

i havent went to riding school, i am going to PRS after school is done. Looking at a r6 tomorrow, if all goes well ill buy one

Gwilo 03-22-2014 01:56 PM

Take the course, then buy the bike. Not the bike first.

This is good advice, do the course first. There will always be another bike. Maybe after the course you'll find you like a different style of riding/bike anyway.

Raid3n 03-26-2014 12:16 PM

looks like it's going to be half decent this afternoon, anyone up for a zip?

PLUJ 03-26-2014 12:51 PM

Raid3n 03-26-2014 01:03 PM

i'm in poco, i haven't really decided yet. i probably won't be home until around 5 or so.

PLUJ 03-26-2014 01:05 PM

I'm in Coquitlam. If the weather is still good, I'll ride.

radioman 03-26-2014 01:21 PM

If you wait till 6 I'll be down :) Maximum 60kmph though :troll:
