Wow, ok. So 2015 brings some major life changes. So last week marks the last time I wear a pair of contact lenses. I didn't get the procedure done solely for biking per say, but it was more so for my future prospects for work. After a consultation in early February, I went back to London Eye Center in New West last Wednesday and got my corrective eye surgery done :fullofwin:. The procedure I got was PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) which is the no touch laser method. Essentially what they do is reshape your cornea using a laser. The laser itself burns cool and it vaporizes a minute amount of tissue in certain areas of your eye they have premapped out to correct your near/farsightedness and stigmatism. It's different from the LASIK procedure as LASIK require a small incision be made to the cornea. It's super bizzare though, you're awake for the procedure and as the laser goes to work your vision slowly clears. It gets blurry again before they clean your eye with out saline. Then everything you see is super crisp but light sensitive. You are in and out in an hour, the surgery itself takes 5 minutes but its the prep work that takes up the majority of the time. Following the first few days your eyes are just itchy, gritty and dry. Time for another update! Of course with plenty of eye candy :fappery: After much anticipation (and waiting of course) my cartridge kit is in :fullofwin:. Original gold baby! It's the Ohlins 30mm aka. nix30 kit for the green machine. Stoked cause my front end setup will finally compliment the rear. It increases adjustabililty, reduce brake dive in the front end and makes the bike feel like its planted on rails when cornering. I'll be reporting in when some feedback once I get these bad boys in. It's also supposed to increase the smoothness of the ride over bumps so the bike doesn't unsettle easily. Installation will require removal of the forks and internals, then replacing the factory cartridges & springs with aftermarket. Also need new oil seals and dust seals as well as fresh oil. Measurements of the oil level will differ to for the new set up! **edit** Out with the old, in with the new! New suit next to (whats left of) my old one :lol Decided to go with a different color suit to match up my helmet and gloves :concentrate:. Like my last suit it's a Laguna Seca Pro Estiva (estiva for summer = perforated) by Dainese.
