Nothing wrong with a turbo rotary, but they're not really suited to city life since they kinda need high revs and long enough drives to keep the carbon away.

Lol @ people posting pics of "$7000" cars with about $10k of mods put in before the photo was taken... not sure if srs as you won't find a car in that condition with that level of work for that much money.

Now, THIS...

1985 Ae86 GTS coupe RWD

1987 toyota corolla

$4500 and $1500, respectively.

Put the rest of the money towards paint, suspension, engine mods etc and it's not too bad of a "fun" RWD car you can rip around in. 4-cylinder though but they're pretty light so definitely not low on power.

I have one.. and as long as the previous owner took care of it, it doesn't cost all that much to maintain. Just replace fluids sooner than you should, proper tires, wear items like brakes, clutches, etc.

Just make sure you find one with as little rust as possible, as that IMO is the huge wallet-killer and also the hardest to fix. Mechanically they are very simple.

Turbo S.

944 N/A are more readily available, simpler, and less finicky.

You could get an MR2 or GTFour for under 7k easily, toss in some maintenance work and you're good to go.

Here's another decent looking one:
1987 Porsche 944

not a 944 but this would probably be fun too:
Porsche 914 1974

Plus, you'd get the added bonus of sub $500/yr insurance if you can get collector plates on them.

Get a Foxbody Mustang with a 5.0 and you'll have the ultimate thrashmobile.

Not to mention that the aftermarket support is oversaturated as fuck.
