My New (to me) Ducati 1098S

Hey guys!

Wanted to share my excitement for this upcoming riding season since i picked up a Ducati 1098S.

It was a bike i always wanted since it first came out but i was always riding Japanese I4's (600RR and a GSXR 750 up until this bike).

Last pic of my K8 750 before i sold it to a happy new owner last month:

Looking forward to learning (or suffering?) the quirks of this Italian machine, after i fix some issues with it that the dealership is stating they will fix for me:

Hope to see you guys and girls on the road this season!

Hope you got deep pockets for repairs. I had a 999 and a s4rs and both bikes spent a lot of time in the shop.

These ones are a lot better. My old one's been a turn key bike from day 1, any issues I've experienced were just slight hic-ups and a result of me adding all the aftermarket components on it.

The major service intervals have also been extended to 12000kms, I suppose they made the improvements to appeal to the larger market.

Beautiful bike. I love how serious the headlights are. Also have always enjoyed the look of centre exit exhausts. Time to YouTube what this beast sounds like. Are older ducatis really that much if a bitch to maintain? I loved the older v twin duc's

Thx CharlieH!

Just curious, I heard from James that you have the Akrapovic Evolution system on your RR. How do you like it? Is it loud?

Mashimaro ... I had read that previously. What started giving away indications of previous damage? Was there anything suspect about the paint, tank, etc?

I had the akra shorty full system on the S1k, it was a little too loud. I'm running the stock akra on my HP4 now. Not nearly as loud but a lot less heaty lol
