Spoiler!
I've been off work with the flu the past few days, so unfortunately no.

I do think your posts have been below your typically excellent quality in the other thread.

i bet anyone could care less about a random guy who buys an unreliable car at such a young age like OP. but fuck his attitude, that's the problem.

inb4 320icar comes in and punches him in the throat.

You'll need to share your stories about your E38 ownership!

Its been fun! For the most part they have all treated me very well. I have owned 5 drivers + 4 parts cars. I have never had guides fail on me but i have done them on the 3 that i have owned with the M62TU . Very easy job just time consuming. I actually wrapped my first one around a pole when i was 17 and bought a 540I with blown guides and swapped the motor from my first 740 into my 540. Current daily's are my 750il, my 740il and my M4.

List of “unreliable” bmws i have owned since this hilarious post was made that have all treated me very well.
2000 740i (first car)
1999 540i (parted out)
2003 x5 3.0 (traded for my e36)
1999 740IL (sold to a kid who wrote it off right after i dumped $3800 into the motor)
1994 bmw 325ci with full m3 swap (just sold after owning for 7 years)
1995 740I (most reliable car i have ever had)
2011 335I x drive stage 2 tune (broke the first day i owned it on the sea to sky)
2002 x5 4.6IS (alpina X5 never should have sold it)
2009 bmw M3 convertible (got bored of it and sold after 3 years of ownership)
1996 750IL (one of my current daily's im almost 50k into this car now….)
2001 740IL calypso red (for sale as of now)
2015 bmw M4

They all treated you very well... but one of them needed $3800 in engine work and another one broke the first day you owned it? And being $50k into a 96 750? That doesn't sound so great lol

Fun times though. A lot of times cars with problems have their problems greatly exaggerated... other times... people just get lucky.

$3800 into redoing a bunch of stuff that did not need to be done, loads of preventive maintenance. The goal was to make it a flawless car for whoever buys it to ask top dollar for the car.

The 335 broke the first day due to a leaky oil filter housing. Cheap easy repair and it ran flawless until i sold it a year later.

The 48k I am into the 750 for is on a full restoration literally everything is brand new oem, interior, exterior and mechanically. Its almost like a brand new car at this point. Rare parts for these cars are not cheap either, i just spent a small fortune on a set of tables, genuine alpina 21” rims with pilot supersports, the oem fridge for the rear and a rare inlaid wood set.

So, yes! Fun times is correct. My bmw ownership has been amazing all repairs are done by me, I learn something new every time something goes wrong which is less often than most would imagine.

Calypso Red is a great colour. One of the guys in the E36 community has a Calpyso Red E36 sedan, on silver BBS RKs. Absolutely stunning colour and combo.

Legendary thread, good times.

Pretty crazy to think you were 16 years old when you started this thread.

Are you sweating when you fill up your vehicle?

You may have the new car owner virus.

My neighbour has a white dumped one on corvette salad shooters. He doesn’t drive it unfortunately but it looks hard AF. Especially in this weather when he leaves the sunroof on tilt, love it

Edit: oops is an e32 not e38, but that’s okay they both look awesome to me

If you look back 15 years and aren’t embarrassed it wasn’t because you were smart then, it’s because you’re still stupid.
