Hey guys the team I play for is in a bit of a bind.

We need a goalie for this Thursday (April 24) at 9:40pm at Kits. Iron I. Captain already tried the VIHL spares list and no one can make it. No replies on Hockey Community either.

Anyone want extra "ice" time?

LOL, again?

Same shit happened between you guys last year

m3thods 04-27-2014 10:53 AM

Dang that's something I've never seen yet in VIHL. They just don't like each other? Or are both teams hot-headed?

!Nhan 04-27-2014 03:00 PM

from the scoresheet it seemed like it was more one sided, as one team had over 70 pims and the other had like 26 or so LOL

Glad to see nothing has changed about the chopsticks

I wasn't there that game but I heard it was crazy. Some of the chopstick guys got some stupid calls against them and they got ejected out of the game. Pretty much at the end, both teams were going at it and the chopstick bench jumped onto the ice ( even the players that were ejected). Blood was shed for one of our guys, so this is pretty intense for a rec league LOL.

refs are more likely to make a shitty call if you're a team with bad history, not specifically with that ref himself, but with other refs

Jgresch 05-07-2014 10:34 AM

what was the score of that game... if I was on the other team I would think that was pretty poor sportsmanship.

m3thods 05-07-2014 10:43 AM

If you guys won the game, that'd be a pretty dick-headed way to win.

In this league, all it takes is one idiot on the other team to seriously hurt another idiot pulling off that kind of stunt.

Edit: That rink looks unfamiliar. I'm guessing this is a drop-in? If that's the case, I take back most of what I said.

HYP#11 05-07-2014 10:58 AM

We were down by 4. No need to call the fun police. Other team thought it was hilarious.

Jgresch 05-07-2014 11:00 AM

^ we didn't know that....

HYP#11 05-07-2014 11:08 AM

Sorry, forgot to mention the clip was edited. We weren't actually playing Iceland.

Jgresch 05-07-2014 12:30 PM

ohhhhh okay. It was confusing because one end was on ice. It makes sense now.

RevYouUp 05-11-2014 12:33 PM

Played on a higher tier than I usually would for a game in net; I swear lower tier teams play better D than the higher tiers. The amount of 2 on 1s, 3 on 1s and breakaways I faced were ridiculous.

It's because people like me in lower tiers watch too much Coach's Corner and intermission TSN broadcasts to still care about playing defence like a real NHL team :toot:

Plus you tend to have ringers in lower divs who usually play to not get scored on whilst helping their teammates get all the points. Everyone in the higher divs are ringers who want the points lol

sekin67835 05-27-2014 03:16 PM

Looking for a goalie, June 1 9:55 pm at kitsilano rink. PM me please. Also looking for a backup goalie. Tier :iron 2

HYP#11 06-09-2014 09:57 AM

Just a quick update for all my fans. My VIHL scoring streak has now reached 50 games (106 G, 71 A, 177 Pts). Thanks for the support. I couldn't have done it without you guys.
