My gf has an issue. When she opens Google she gets a popup saying "your phone running out of memory. Fix it!" But she has 55gb left and only using a gig of her ram. What's going on? Is it a virus? Or something else? i had her reset her phone, but how does she restore all her apps and everything? its backed up using her google account |
Apps dont get backup to google account.. unless its paid legit apps, she can just re install from GPlay... Otherwise, you should have used Titanium Backup to backup apps... |
^Your post is misleading - it sounds like most apps won't sync, and only some will. In truth, every app you get from the playstore will be tied to your account, so as long as you sign-in using the same Google ID, they'll install automatically. If you rooted and sideloaded apps, thoes won't sync, and you'd have to use Titanium as ^ said. |
bigzz786786 asked how to restore apps and if they got backed up to google account. So I said that only legit paid apps from GPlay will only be restore/sync'ed to google account but will need to be redownloaded, etc... If you download apk from somewhere else, only way to backup apps and restore them is to use Titanium Backup |
^Fair enough. I noticed today that my mic isn't working lol - the back/top mic works when I'm on speakerphone, but there's nothing from my bottom mic. I can blow into it, and it'll recognize, as well as scratches on the surface, so it's still working, albeit very very minimally. I didn't use the "phone" to make calls since 44S update, so I don't know if it's related to it or not. Reboot does not fix. Anyone else having this issue? |
thanks guys, yeah once she logged back into her google account, all her pictures and contacts repopulated. then she went into play store and just reinstalled/update all the apps |
Official OnePlus thread If anyone has an invite left, I'd gladly appreciate it. Thanx |

i just received my phone today. noticed a lag when i tried to setup my alarm and then some of the weekdays disappeared. odd Also, when i pull down the notification bar, it doesn't show my notifications, it keeps going to the icon bar of wifi, brightness, settings etc..need to keep switching it over...anyone know how i can pull down and it will permanently go to notifications? hope i am explaining this correctly |
settings > notification drawer > quick settings panel > quick pulldown > off hope thats what you are looking for |
yeah mine sometimes goes into the tiles when I pull down the notification bar lol and for sure I did not have it as tiles beforehand I just press the button to get it back into notification, though I do understand that it can be quite annoying. |
FYI (default settings): If you pull down from the top right where the clock is, its Tiles. If you pull down from anywhere else along the bar, its Notifications. You can change the Tiles pulldown to the Left side as well. Or Off as mentioned above. |
you can turn it off. but if you need it, use two fingers to drag down the drawer and you get tiles from that as well. |
my friend showed me her phone. looks pretty slick. i like the screen resolution and sliding through the screens was pretty smooth. |
Despite not knowing DHL Express was going to be used for shipping, and I had to pay a mandatory $27, at least they were very quick. I preordered on Oct 27 and was given a 4-6 week estimation time. OnePlus too their sweet time during this process, but shipped it out on Nov 13, and my phone was here already on the 14th (Friday). (3 weeks, not bad!) Except I wasn't home, so I went to their site to redirect them to my my work address. Process was so easy online, I was a bit skeptical. I was expecting a confirmation email or some sort from DHL, but sure enough, I received my phone this afternoon at work. I haven't opened it yet... but reading about all these buggy issues scare me. I've been lurking on the OnePlus forums as well. I don't recall if Samsung phones had this much complaining, or if OPO just have a bunch of bad batches from the factory. I'm sure overall, people with issues are a small percentage. But still, with that many people complaining, if 10% of OPO owners have issues, that's actually pretty bad. The only 2 friends I know that have the OPO. One of them wants to sell it already. And the other said he's mostly happy with it, but he's being patient and putting faith in the future updates to fix some things. None the less, they told me this after I made my pre-order, so I can only hope for the best. I'll share a review/my experience in a few weeks. I hope I don't regret going with OPO.... It was nice to save money, but I wouldn't have had any problem forking out the extra cash to get the S5 or a Nexus. But I admit, I just wanted to feel "exclusive" :alonehappy: |
Its a start-up company after all and its their first phone, albeit they have ties to OPPO, so its understandable that there seem to be more issues than phones coming out of big companies such as Samsung/Moto/LG/etc. The forums are such a shitshow with kids, literally like 13 year olds, complaining about any little thing and expecting the phone to be perfect from the get-go. The only thing the phone has going for it is probably the "exclusive" feel. |
I bought an OPO from another member here, and have used it for about a month and a half now. I knew it wouldn't be under warranty when I bought it because he also wasn't the original owner, but I bought it anyway as it was cheap. Here's my take on the phone and the company: As long as the phone is built properly in the factory - and this seems to be the case, as apart from the yellow screens (which was fixed/goes away), a lot of the issues people have is with software. Software bugs can be fixed, and most phones have software issues. If anything, OPO is actually one of the better manufacturers in this regard, as they release frequent updates and their team actually do listen to customers. If it's a hardware problem, then it's a different story. Their support is very very slow if not non-existant, and even if it's RMA approved, you have to send it to China - there are reports of it taking months, all the while you don't have a phone. Also parts are virtually non-existant, so you can't really repair it (like me). I ordered another one yesterday, and it was shipped out today. I think it comes down to balance. The $$ savings in the phone itself have to be offset somehow, and it's likely coming from what happens when you have problems with it. But its a risk you take as a buyer. You knew all these possibilities when you bought the phone. For now, despite the mishaps, OPO is still good in my books. Although of course that may change later and I'll spend twice the money on a phone from an established manufacturer. Who knows. PS. The OPO forums is indeed a shitshow. Half the people on it don't even have the phone lol. |
