I spent hours yesterday playing with the phone and it's features. Just installing apps and setting up my preferences. So far, my phone's hardware and software seem fine.

I haven't set up my phone yet. I currently have a Mini-SIM, and the OPO uses the Micro-SIM. I can cut my Mini-SIM, but I'm a bit worried I might FUBAR it. Would it be a better option to just buy a Mini-SIM? And how would I transfer the info from the Micro to the Mini?

(Edited: Called the SIM cards a SD card and confused everyone.)

^ that's odd. Mine came with the micro SD slot in the phone and a mini SD slot in the box.

:suspicious:

You mean there's already a miniSD included, that's already inside the phone???

OnePlus One accepts Micro Sim (default) or Nano Sim (nano adapter sim tray included on the newer shipments)

LOL. Good question.

I totally fucked up the terminology. Brain was thinking one thing, hands were typing something else.
I meant my SIM card.

:failed:

OK. I get it now.

My OPO has a default tray for Micro-SIM. An adapter tray for Nano-SIM.

But I have a "huge-ass" Mini-SIM.

:fuuuuu:

BlackV62K2 11-18-2014 02:46 PM

Thanks shenmecar for the invite :)

bigzz786786 11-18-2014 04:17 PM

Lol woops. Meant sim tray haha

If you have those large sim cards get a new one. Those old large ones don't have good lte capabilities.

nabs 11-18-2014 05:55 PM

I have an invite, good til tomorrow sometime... still conflicted.

nabs 11-18-2014 06:03 PM

I get a notice saying they won't ship to me... is this an error or do they actually not ship to canada?

TOS'd 11-18-2014 06:11 PM

Seeing as many of us shipped to Canada directly to our doors, its an error.

AzNightmare 11-18-2014 07:43 PM

So is in my account screen

INVITES TO BUY THE ONE

Is that different from

INVITES TO SHARE

??

I got an invite from OnePlus today in my email.
And I clicked the link and it told me to claim the invite.

Was I supposed to give someone that url if I wanted to share?? Cause I think I just "claimed" the invite myself.

WTF?? :suspicious:

TOS'd 11-18-2014 08:31 PM

If you look at the invite url with the random numbers and letters. It will tell you if it was claimed or not "An error occurred: This invite has already been used and cannot be claimed again. "

Make sure you're in the "Canada" website - there's a location button you have to set, and everything should work.

They ship to Canada, but you'll get raped on fees.

I sent mine to Blaine..should arrive tmrw.

Installed a replacement TGP as well as received my diztronic case. Used the distronic case to help line up the TGP. :woot2:

inv4zn 11-18-2014 09:27 PM

How's the case?

I have a Tudia but I don't like the bulk it adds so I've been carrying it naked.

TOS'd 11-18-2014 09:36 PM

Case isnt bad, its smooth but still has some grip. My case came with a slight defect on the bottom, but its no big deal. As with some TPU cases, the top and bottom is prone to sagging. Fits perfectly with the Orzly TGP, as well as the other ones I assume since they are all roughly the same size. A lot of members here use this combo of TGP + Diztronic.

I used a plastic clear poly case first, which scratched my sandstone back when I took it off/put it on, many times cause OCD and I need to get the dust out from the back.

I then used it naked for awhile and I noticed even when being very careful, the sandstone would wear out and smoothen, different from when it was getting scratched off.

Moved on to a white back cover which I swapped in replacement of the sandstone. The white babyskin back gets marked up way easier. Gotta keep wiping it down with water to get rid of dirt and jean stains before they become permanent.

Went back to the sandstone case and now recently added the diztronic. Nice refreshing change which makes the phone still look good while having much more protection so I don't have to baby the phone anymore.

Oh yea, somewhere after the white back cover, I cracked my TGP when the phone fell 2' onto hardwood flooring and that's why I put on a new one. Surprisingly no damage on the phone itself from the fall.

When you get the phone from the states, is it already unlocked? What happens once you put your sim card in, does it lock to the carrier?

TOS'd 11-18-2014 11:24 PM

When you order the phone from Oneplus, it is fully unlocked. When you put in your carrier's simcard, you will be able to use the phone on your preferred network but it will not lock to that network. Which allows you to use other simcards from other providers around the world, providing the cell bands are supported by the device.
