I would go to a BMW message forum for this question, but most are US based and let's be honest, nothings better than Revscene
Bought this car several years ago when I was in university. Since then I've kinda lost interest. Car is grey with sport cloth seats and no tears etc. Car has never been smoked in, in my ownership and that goes back to 2003. Car is fully loaded for the year with only leather as the only option not selected
Car is a grey coupe with ALL maint done. JUST got it back from the shop where I had the head gasket, valves cleaned, head machined, and a new rad all installed as well as all associated parts (new timing belt, tensioner, water pump etc.)
Since I've owned it, I've also completed the following:
New front control arms and bushings (m3 e36 centered bushings)
Complete clutch kit
rebuilt shifter bushings
new rear sub frame bushings
rebuilt driveshaft with replaceable u joints
new brakes all around (pads and rotors)
Euro smiley headlights with blue citilights
Borbet type C wheels in 16 inch
8 speaker OEM stereo with Sony MP3 deck (all properly wired)
new antenna mast (extends/retracts as it should)
rebuilt drivers door lock with working double lock feature
blah, blah, blah
I'm asking this here, since most users are from the LML and know the value a little better than anywhere else in Canada.
^ When I was watching E30(a few months ago) pricing, a good condition 325is could easily fetch 4k. If it's rat bagged, and poor condition, don't expect more then 2.
Mileage and condition dependant. A mint low mileage one even higher.
FWIW, they are getting harder to find (then again, so is a Volvo 262 non-bertone, but it doesn't mean it's anymore desireable), and the kiddies seem to think they are good for drifting and think they look good in rap videos (yay pop culture!)

Curious about kms? Also, 88 has the metal bumpers correct? Thats a mark against it in the enthusiast world. Vancouver/victoria seems to have the lowest e30 premium in North america, because the elements are kind to cars out here compared to anywhere other than Cali, PNW or texas. Yet cars from cali or texas fetch the "warm weather premium." That leaves us with a surplus of non enthusiast cars that are still in good shape who sell them at non crackpipe prices. Post some photos. Hell I may want it.

judging by how you describe it, sellable for 5k asking nowadays especially when the weather is warmer.
list it at 4800? assuming maintenance is up to date, car / shell / interior is in good shape, its a fair asking price. Clean, daily drivable E30's still hold good money (better than E36)
I sold my 91 318IS in four hours... listed it at 3800 and sold for full price. (black on black, with leatherette)
sold my 89' 325is for $2300.. (way too cheap and i regret to this day)

A 91 318is is the holy grail of non M e30s though.

$5000 +/- $1000 I'd say if it is as clean as you claim.
Any rust at all on it, particularly trunk compartments?

I know the body is the most important aspect of these cars, as anything else is easily swapped out and replaced.
rear battery box is clean. took an old toilet brush and cleaned it all out. surprised to find it so clean. Same with rear valance
Front strut tower under fuse box has a small bit of surface rust, rockers are pretty clean overall (very minor small spots at base of B pillars where they meet the rockers). light stone pits in front valance. around headlights, but no dents or broken paint. Rear license plate area is also spot and rust free
Under carriage is clean (floor pans, etc) no holes or soft spots. Same with rear valance.
If I were to keep it, how much would y'all think it would be to clean up the body? (considering I dont' get decent offers..)

any rust under the front bottom corners of the fenders? some rust, some don't.
the 88+ cars with the galvanized shells are usually in better shape than the earlier cars.
and yes, 5k is reasonable, based on OP's description. Those E30's are going up in value year after year. Damn E30 tourings are going up in price too!

Looks like a nice car. I'd say 4-4.5k is a fair asking price. People are willing to pay for a clean E30 these days. Unfortunate it's not a year newer with the plastic bumpers as it would go in a heartbeat.
Did it have an accident on the front left corner? Could be the light, but the paint looks slightly darker.
