Good gun.

If you're looking at that, you might as well look into some glocks and perhaps the p226.

Both will be a bit more expensive but not so much that if you fall in love, you'd be heartbroken that it breaks the bank.

incubus 07-11-2016 02:47 PM

love my 226 can't believe I almost sold it.

go for what fits, meets your budget and if you plan on modding it or stock.

keep in mind you wanna leave a little for extra mags and ammo

Thought you were going to sell it to me?

Can't do it. The grip safety bothers to me to no end.

I don't know how other people do it.

No kidding!?
The 1911 is a super popular chassis, and lots of people love it. But the beauty of having so much choice in the pistol world is that if you don't like the way it feels, you have other options.

I personally love my IWI Jericho 941. It has a great feel with Hogue grips, and shoots really well right out of the box.

I've tested both the 226 and the Glocks, the 226 was nice, Glock triggers are weird.

My "want" pistol would be a CZ Shadow... those are great pistols.

Reliable has 3 (!) used M&P9's for sale, each as a kit with 4 mags and a holster for $600. Is that a good/decent price? I figure 9mm would be cheaper to shoot than .45ACP or .40S&W too.

I'm not a huge fan of 1911-style guns... might just be me. Might have to try a different one - the two that I've tried were Para-Ordnance pistols and the double-stack grip felt huge in my hands.

incubus 07-12-2016 09:55 AM

yes that's a great price, some people prefer glock or 1911 triggers just because it's always the same trigger pull.

you can never go wrong with a cz 75sp01 everyone loves them and very accurate guns.

I like 9mm inexpensive to shoot and a great all around caliber. the only time I regret not having a 40 is when I shoot with law enforcement, but I do borrow their guns.

sale

anyone get anything in limited entry?

put in for anterless mule deer and moose in 2 different zones in Kamloops, nada :/

originalhypa 07-19-2016 11:27 AM

The fucking rcmp just outlawed 25, 50, and 110 round mags for the Ruger 10/22.
CanadianGunNutz.com

Apparently someone figured out that they can be used in the Charger pistol, and all hell broke loose.

I got skunked again for two draws, including a group draw.

Alright,

I had my doubts that there had been any changes to the legality of 10/22 magazines. This is due to the fact that there is no evidence or statement from the RCMP that there have been changes to the legality of 10/22 mags. I was able to contact the RCMP lab and spoke to a fellow named Mario.

Apparently bulletin 72 is the resource that shows that >10rd 10/22 mags are illegal. Apparently this has been the case since about 2011. He says that the CFOs are contacting the licensed firearm dealers to let them know this. Some provinces are slower than others. Also I guess they don't have anyway to contact the importers (as are not licensed vendors and don't know who they are). He believes that 10/22,Mossberg 715, S&W MP22 and the Remington Viper all have the same issue.

Obviously the common interpretation of the law is different. He thinks that this will be up to lawyers to decide. He also went on to say that the Tavor and T97 never should have been made legal. They are legal because the law was poorly worded.

I am waiting for an email from the RCMP lab stating that all 10 22 mags >10rd are in fact illegal according to them.

So there it is. Time to fight this. Write to your MP's and Ralph Goodale. We can't be pushed around like this because a bureaucrats opinion changed.

Hey guys, so gun plans have been put on hold as I'll be moving to Pemberton in August! :D

Anyone a member of one of the rod & gun clubs up there? I'll be looking to find one to join so I can get a restricted fire-arm and have a range to go to.

looks like its time to donate

CSSA & CSAAA Join to start legal action- Ruger 10/22 mags

i love this video from colin noir

we need to band together I've noticed when the ar petition was going around a lot of the hunters were like its not our problem and didn't sign.

Some people think its the liberals and rcmp trying to see what kind of reaction they'd get from us. Look at what the liberals did last time they were in prohibited some rifles and handguns, as people got older less people were able to get them. so theres my rant of what i've been hearing the last few days in the shop and what not.

Some people blame caliber mag for stirring the pot, and off course they love the attention and what not. who knows

originalhypa 07-29-2016 08:21 AM

For the record, my gsg drum doesn't fit in my charger pistol. That alone should make them legal for use.

eclipseman 08-02-2016 07:40 PM

damnit...i have so many 25 round archangel mags....

originalhypa 08-03-2016 12:11 PM

I know, it's just absolute bullshit.
The problem is, how far will they go if they're successful with the 10/22 mag limits?

I know that 10rd LAR and Beowolf mags are going to be next. Then bullpups? I've heard that rumor, and it has teeth because of the way the bureaucrats view bullpups.

Quote:

"Any rifle, shotgun or carbine stock of the type known as the “bull-pup” design, being a stock that, when combined with a firearm, reduces the overall length of the firearm such that a substantial part of the reloading action or the magazine-well is located behind the trigger of the firearm when it is held in the normal firing position."[26] (i.e.: only removable stocks are prohibited by this regulation, fixed-stock firearms such as the FN P90 and IWI Tavor are excluded)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics_in_Canada

They are very clear that you cannot alter a gun like a 10/22 by mounting it in a bullpup stock. That has been made clear by the CBSA in years past. Plus as the Swiss Arms/CZ858 fiasco showed us, exclusions to the law can be changed overnight.

Not sure how many of you shoot 40 but here's what looks like a pretty good deal.

After a few months of being too busy or out of town, I finally managed to get to the range today to sight-in my new scope on one of my K31's. I took my other K31 with the diopter sight as well and was quite happy with how it now sights and shoots. Took only one group of 5 to zero my scope at 50 metres, all the rest of the 'groups' are with my diopter.

Zedbra 08-07-2016 11:07 AM

Decided to get a group pic of my Swiss rifles and give them a wipe-down.

I read on CGN this morning that the Swiss are once again manufacturing GP11. Perhaps now pricing can settle back down for the old stock some vendors are trying to sell at inflated prices. Right, Ryan? ;)

underscore 08-09-2016 11:35 AM

Of course they would, shortly after I bought a mountain of the stuff :lol
