Probably best for a noobie who's just getting into the game.

I'll just list roughly how much the stuff "was" worth new for starters. I'm not crazy enough to think I'm getting close to new price of course.

Norinco AR - $699
Magpul MOE SL Handguard - $60
Magpul MOE + Grip - $30
Magpul MOE Stock Mil Spec - $60
Magpul 30 round Pmags x 2 - $60
Unbranded Red Dot Sight - It came with the Bushmaster AR I have so I'm just going to say unbranded. It works, have had no issues with it.
Gun case - I don't remember the brand right now as i'm not home but it isn't anything fancy but legal. It's just the foam egg crate style so it was NOT pre cut which means it can fit other guns if you so choose to - $100?

About 300 rounds put through this gun so many years of life left. There is 1 aesthetic issue though. Norinco is known to be a bit off mil spec so the handguard did not fit properly onto the gun out of the box. A gun smith had to work on it to get it to fit but it doesn't fit 100% perfectly. You can tell in the pick there is a very small gap in the handguard vs the black one I have in the pic where it's a perfect fit. It doesn't however affect the gun itself, just a looks issue. I also have the original handguard, grip, and buttstock should you want to just restore it back to the default look. There's also the handle with rear sights that it came with that I took off and still have.

Huge close-out sale starting today at Eagle Hunting in Richmond. Some really low prices, so if you are in the buying market, I'd check it out. https://vancouvergunstore.ca/

I'm in need of somewhere I can go to get a rifle appraised for insurance reasons. Where's a good shop to go? Last night my dad inherited an old family heirloom from a 2nd cousin of his. He's downsized and in his 70's now so he asked my dad if he'd like it. It's a used civil war rifle made in 1857 which belonged to his dads grandfather or great grandfather, I'm not sure which one it was. They used to live in the states so there's a good chance it was used in service. He offered it to me last night but I told him to hold on to it for another 20 years. It's a beautiful rifle! He's currently looking for a custom glass case he can put it on the wall.

I'll post some pics of it later. For the time being he needs to find an appraiser for it to be insured properly. Any suggestions or know anyone to go to?

Thanks!

Recently went to Chilliwack for speed steel, it was so much fun but I need way more practice.

Also picked up an AR-15 for a great deal! GTO Core-15 with a Nikon P-223 3-9x scope on it.

Been quiet in here. I tried out my friend's S&W 29 the other day - it's a bloody hand cannon. Factory nickel plated, 8 3/8" barrel, in 44 MAG. You need to hold onto this one.

Congrats! I haven't shot trap in a while, though I was getting into it a few years ago. Never got that perfect match yet - close, but no cigar. Did the line shoot up your hat?

skeet and trap is slightly different, but YES! it is the tradition of throwing up your hat and shooting the shit out of it. Didn't know there was such a tradition!

Snowed? Better go to the range!

It was dead quiet.

Got myself a lever gun to go with my AR and Glock! The 22 Henry is a lot of fun.

Some fancy wood on that 10/22.

SBR upper makes for fun

That's a great start, for sure. Shotguns are all about how they fit you, so what is good for me, probably isn't ideal for you. I have a few cheap semi-auto shotguns that I can shoot really well and yet others can't sight it to save their lives.

Been trying to hold back the urge to buy a 9mm pistol for weeks, but I am going to a few shops today to start looking. We all know where that leads.

What kind? I've been a fan of my Glock 17, but kind of wish I got a 19 or a 48 because I have small hands. The grip is just a little too fat for me.

Was just at Reliable, I liked the CZ Shadow but I also liked the surplus Israeli Jericho 941s they have in stock. I have large hands and prefer steel bodies. My range doesn't allow rapid fire, so slow and heavy works for me. It will be my first 9mm, always stuck with 1911s in 45 or wheel guns in 357.

9MM 1911's are nice too. Softer-shooting with all that weight.

Yeah, I went to Italian and they have a Remington R1 Command Carry double stack 9mm, so the size of the grip was great for my hands. I already have an Enhanced R1 Command Carry and it is tight and shoots excellent, I was kind of wanting something 'different' and not plastic fantastic.

What about the surplus Beretta 92s floating around? I think Lever has some locally. They are ex-Carabinieri, and seem to be in excellent shape except the mag release is a heel release.

I've shot a few Berettas and they just really didn't do much for me. I'll have a look, but I think if I go surplus, I may go for the Jericho. Like I said - something 'different'. Come to think of it, I may have a friend that wants to sell his 92, he picked up a Sig Legion and now the Beretta is cold shouldered like an ex-wife.
