For 4 k it's pretty reasonable. I'd say closer to maybe 2-3 k. Only real good thing in it's favor is the clean body and interior....so closer to 3.

Those are the non-turbo models, so they tend to be much more reliable (and obviously more gutless) than the turbo models. Engine turns out a decent 168hp and 162tq from it's 2.4inline 5 cyl. This one seems to be dealer maintained, so worth a bit.

Here is one but not sure how well it is maintained.

2004 GLI, 199K kms, $6K. If you can get it for low $5K, it would be a good buy.

Ugh, so sad the owner didn't take care of the seats and just rolled out of the car. (left bolster on the bottom cushion is flat)

fliptuner 03-26-2019 08:13 AM

I still love manual, TDI, Mk4 Jetta wagons

They are extremely hard to take care of lol. The bolsters are just a giant piece of foam and its tall, the actual metal support is so far down its literally designed to get wrecked over time. I tried my best in mine all the time but always ended up squishing the shit out of it with my fat ass

FN-2199 03-26-2019 06:41 PM

Beautiful car, but beware of the EJ20k, especially ones getting close to 200k...

tofu1413 03-26-2019 06:50 PM

GC design is timeless.

The car to this day looks so bad ass...still has that "street fighter" aura to it and still intimidating today.

underscore 03-26-2019 07:39 PM

It's the only Subaru I like the look of, back when cars could actually be small and compact the big wing and hood scoop/vents make it look really aggressive which I love.

westopher 03-26-2019 08:10 PM

Small coupes with big wings are what made the 90s special. Aero will never look this good again.
