That LSB e46 is the perfect example of why CL should charge to list your car.

vitaminG 04-18-2019 11:00 AM

^ perfect example cause its probably fake. I texted him too, will call later but I doubt anyone is dumb enough to sell for 5-10k below what is worth.

frost91 04-18-2019 12:17 PM

From pictures, looks like car has been sitting for some time now. Tires are deflated so they're probably junk by now. Minor body damage, and damage looks like it starts at the rear but picture cuts off the worst likely.

Not sure what an engine from a gs400 is worth these days but could be a decent deal... with the right buyer?

For $2500, I think with some haggling, it could be a nice project car. I've seen GS400s with similar mileage go for a couple grand more. Definitely need more photos though. Could be hiding more damage.

I bought my GS400 for $2000 last year. That GS should be more like $1500 in it's current condition.

What's the year/mileage? How are you liking the car so far? I always had a soft spot for this generation of GS's.

fliptuner 04-19-2019 09:37 PM

I have an '00 GS300 with 115k. Totally adequate with the 2j and easier to work on. As far as I'm concerned, it's a cruiser, not a muscle car. Quiet and solid.

OK - who on RS is selling their Lexus GS right now?

Quoted from the ad:

I also drive this in Vancouver all the time. It's sneaked past Cain without issues. You could raise it to be safe, but that's on you. Exhaust is quiet unless you're on the throttle, but with the torquey V8 you'll barely need to in the city.

It's a 99 GS400, 200K miles (US import). It's my 2nd GS400, my first one got totaled last year. The 1UZ is such a great engine, reliable and powerful and since I drive highway mostly, decent gas mileage. The 2nd Gen GS is also a really classy platform as well. Right now they're affordable and if you put a bit into it, you can get a lot back in terms of looks and performance.

Hmmm $7k seems like an awful lot for a 20 year old Lexus with 230k kms.

^ I feel like certain officers would say a thing or two about the missing front plates LUL. I really dig the white GS though, GLWS.

rwd auto or fwd manual hmm

sonick 04-21-2019 12:49 PM

I went from an rwd auto e30 to a fwd manual protege5 and personally definitely preferred the latter.

good buy?

snowfarmer 04-21-2019 06:33 PM

Oh hell no, it will not be good, you better like fixing it. Still, considering the condition it's a good deal for $5,700. Great looking car, the masochist streak in me likes it a lot!

2004 Audi A4 Quattro, 140K kms, $3K (I have a sneaking suspicion that this is the ultrasport model but I can't verify. If so, this is a helluva buy)

you know what really grinds my gears? How hard is it to pick up a coffee cup before taking a picture? Like if they showed a little more effort and care maybe people will respect these use car dealerships more. Especially if you are advertising " The interior and exterior are in excellent condition with noo dents or scrathes or rips or stains."
