^ Not quite the E24 to own, early years just suck interior wise. The engine is also under powered, and uses older style suspension from the 70's. It is pretty though. Anyone checking this out, keep an eye out for rust starting underneath the front fenders on the frame where they are bolted onto the unibody.

Here is something neat

snowfarmer 05-06-2019 07:14 PM

Tyler Hoover would be all over that, he bought one of them but I don't think his was as loaded with 80's/90's luxo-weirdness.

Awesome find GS8, and totally your M.O.

First thing he got after immigrating to Vancouver was buy that car, he loved it and drove it to the ground and sold it for scrap a few years ago.

140hp out of a 3.1l V6 :lawl:

Meanwhile that same year, he got my mom a brand new Honda EF hatch, base model automatic without a radio. Traded it in for a 1996 Mercury Villager :QQ:

How I wish he traded in the Pontiac and kept the EF. It would've been MINT.

I wanted this car so badly when it first came out, I still love them:

Very mint, very low mileages...perhaps still a bit too much money??

Japanese import. Took a look at it. Interior was beat. Rear bumper had dents and crappy respray. Engine sounded good but some areas looked weird on the car not sure if these cars were a bit different when in Japan.

SkunkWorks 05-07-2019 04:44 AM

Lol. What good is a Carfax for a Japanese import?

twitchyzero 05-07-2019 07:54 AM

it's like when the 15th owner of the car says no pets/smoker, gets 93 gas

dorian 05-07-2019 09:15 AM

Way too much. You can get a mint 2014 Si w/ low km for that kind of money.

Not quite. The 14's are still going for about 17-18,500k. I just a sold a mint Certified 2014 Si coupe no accidents, low mileage for $18,500. I think a fair price for that 07 is about 10000 / 11500( and thats on the high end). $15000 for that car is ludicrous.

I test drove one in Duncan that was $16k a few weeks ago that had no accidents, local, and ~80k on it. Didn't seem to have any noticeable problems. Sold the next day. It wasn't certified, though.

I know I've seen some '14s around $15k w/ 40k-60k kms, but I guess they could've been fake.

Nanaimo Subaru has an '14 ILX Dynamic that I test drove as well. Similar to the Si. It's listed at $15k, but a little higher mileage (100k) and it has a few minor cosmetic blemishes (curb rash, some flaking on the door trim).

Are prices normally cheaper for them on the island than the mainland? Can't say I've really looked at mainland prices, but I have been tracking them for about a year up and down the island.

I think they might be a little cheaper on the island as demand is a little less for them out there. We consistently buy Type R's and SI's from Honda dealerships on the island that have a tough time selling them. It's very hard finding Si's that are clean, low mileage and no accidents. Most of them are rat bagged and modified - I haven't seen one for less than 17k on our lot.

not exactly my usual post but this looks like it's in pretty nice condition. Another cool Splendidauto car.

1985 MERCEDES BENZ 300TD W123 WAGON, SEATS 7, VERY WELL MAINTAINED! - $7900

https://images.craigslist.org/00i0i_...Q_1200x900.jpg

1985 MERCEDES BENZ 300TD WAGON, Seats 7. Last year of the legendary W123 Wagon powered by one of the best engines ever built OM617 3.0L Turbo diesel which produces 125HP and plenty of torque. Very economical, durable and easy to service. The 1985 is the only year that featured a longer final drive for more relaxed cruising and the updated transmission. Originally sold in California, 302K Miles on the clock. Comes with extra set of steel wheels. Some service history available. Here is a list of a few notable things from the service file: Recent front and rear brakes, rotors, calipers and pads. Parking Brake shoes and cables. Both motor mounts AND the expensive transmission mount were replaced, so was the muffler and the exhaust manifold as well as both fuel filters. The particle trap as well as the EGR have been removed, so it builds excellent power. The rear self leveling suspension works as it should. Starts on the first turn of the key even in the coldest mornings. As with every 34 year old car, it will need a few minor things addressed, but fundamentally the car is in excellent condition. No Doc Fees. 7,900 By Appointment Only. D30111

I kinda just wanna tour their lot next time i'm down there.

donjalapeno 05-07-2019 07:11 PM

^ weird thing is they dont really have a lot. You make an appointment to see a specific vehicle and they pull it out of storage. I took a look at a W123 from Splendid before I bought my C123 privately.

This is a street view of the lot.

If you're looking for a 9th gen si, for the Honda vtec power, I wouldn't. The FB6 is defs easier to drive around town with more torque, but vtec doesn't hit the same. I have plenty of friends who upgraded to a STI shortly after getting the FB6. Guess they got tired of getting beat by a 16 yo BMW tho. Jokes aside, I would take it on an extended test drive. It's a great daily, but it's not what the Si's used to be.

twitchyzero 05-08-2019 12:51 AM

EM1 or DC2 GS-R and pocket the 12k difference

sure you dont have LSD, and it's useless against thieves...but way better value and fun

underscore 05-08-2019 09:21 AM

12k would get you a pretty nice LSD (assuming they're available).
