The ad has a picture of a screenshot of their ad. I can only assume it's some kind of crazy inside joke, though people are nuts sometimes.

Does anyone know the story on this M3? My dad has been quietly shopping for one and this one seems to be to cheap to be true. Major accident maybe?

Yeah. They made it a 6 speed with the 987.2. Don’t think it’s a big deal.

Quick question regarding sale of car:

If I own an M5 and the blue book value is 30k and I sell it for 18k to a friend I realize that is quite a large gap. In the past as the buyer I was actually dinged for taxes in a similar scenario but now as the seller if that is the honest price I am selling it for will I in anyway get in trouble with the law or CRA?

I know they make the seller sign off on "selling price" on the transfer tax form now. Just wanting to know if I will be on the hook for anything.

Thanks.

No, the seller has no liability. The CRA will only go after the buyer.

Maybe but not necessarily. 6spd and convertible is by far the worst combination for any of the M3s going back to the E46. 95% of enthusiasts want the coupe and those who want the convertible usually want a cruise down Robson car and the DCT is a fantastic transmission. It's probably that cheap because just simply nobody wants that combo regardless of the price (within reason).

When you add proven reliable mods to a VW I'd hardly consider it a downfall.

Yup. Good reps are 25-30k USD. No paranoia, ripping around and mod it all you want.

Assuming this is a private sale of a used vehicle, there is no GST, so the CRA (federal) shouldn’t get involved. It’s 12% PST.

^Bruh PST is 7% gst is 5%, you've had to pay both on used cars since they got rid of the HST and dealers lobbied to have both taxes on private sales so privates wouldn't have an advantage.

That being said only the buyer is evading taxes so I would think it would be on them.

Doubtful.

They’ve revised the testing procedure a few times since 1998, so if you’re basing it on the original fuel economy numbers, those are quite favourable relative to today’s ratings.

You're wrong, Jmac is right... for private sales it's a special 12% version of the PST. There is no GST.
