Looks similar but hard to tell from the single picture.

jmanhas 11-16-2014 11:20 PM

^ wow goodeye, it does look awfully similar

!Tigger 11-16-2014 11:22 PM

its the same car, the badges are blacked out, and it has the sticker on the drivers upper window

PandaDog 11-17-2014 12:14 AM

Lists a rebuilt car as clean :suspicious:

I was going to buy that Del Sol when it was listed for $600, the shell looked clean

argh, how can they call it a "t-top" and "convertible" in the same sentence

With the rear window down and the top off you've basically got a 'vert with a thick roll bar.

yeah i know i'm nitpicking, but to me a convertible has to be some sort of folding retractable top, which this is not...

68style 11-17-2014 05:02 PM

It's actually NEITHER... it's a targa top... there's no t-bar on the Del Sol.

underscore 11-17-2014 05:22 PM

Just needs the VTI Trans Top swapped in from a JDM one.

SRTOY 11-17-2014 08:57 PM

Del Sol also has no aircare and it has the usual rust. Not worth the effort.

PandaDog 11-17-2014 10:26 PM

The trans top is cool and all, but in less time you can have the top taken off/put on by yourself

The trans top mechanisms also take up a lot of space in the trunk, plus it's fairly heavy and weighs the vehicle down slightly

I'm guessing the clutch died on this car
The wheels can be sold to cover relatively close to the price of what the guy is asking for

^ Love that generation. Been a while since i've seen one.

only if you invest in good winter tires... which might cost almost as much as the car?

maybe Semir on Alarm für Cobra 11 – Die Autobahnpolizei needs a bmw to make fly...

tofu1413 11-18-2014 01:52 PM

wow....

thats cheap. even with 430k kms. body looks like its in decent shape as well.

Do all the bushings, shocks and springs... and you have your self a nice handling car.

wonder if it has a factory optional LSD....

how much would that cost?

reason i was so negative is because i just asked my friend who used to own the same thing years ago and he said after his hit around 260k kms it was costing him so much in repairs it just wasn't worth it even though it was a clean car with no claims...

tofu1413 11-18-2014 02:13 PM

I bought used bilstein sports and H&R race springs for my E36.

there are also guys parting out E36 M3 suspension parts and most are pretty much bolt on affair. rest of the E36 parts are a dime a dozen on Craigslist and ebay... a good canvas to build.

As long as the motor hasnt been neglected, it'll run just fine. those 4 bangers arent powerful, but pretty solid motors.

underscore 11-18-2014 02:24 PM

Drive it til it has a problem, part it out/sell it or 5.0 swap it for a grand.
