GTI Performance

I've been watching the price on this one come down for the past few months, I think it's in "Good Buy" territory now at $20K. I recall that one of the earlier versions of the ad stated that it also has an ECU tune. That gen of EA888 motor in the GTI can put out 297hp with just a tune. This one is the performance model with DCC and a ELSD front diff. I've driven one of these, they're pretty fun cars. This one comes with a nice set of BBS's and the stock wheels with winter tires.

He didn't wanna go below 7k. Car was rough looking. Dual exhaust one hanging lower than the other so probably backed into something. Rad support was bashed in and poorly straightened. Shitty repair job.Front hood lots of rock chips and dent. Fender hood and bumper paint mismatch. He hit the front hard enough to damage the a/c and power steering so they don't work. Drives fine though.

I would say it's a good buy. I had a 2016 GTI performance with 70k and ECU tune and the dealership offered $23k as a trade-in and is listing it for $27k.
You need to watch for the clutch on these. They are weak and will slip, with kind of tuning.

I figured it had to be in rough shape. For reasons that I absolutely do not agree with, the NC is the least well liked Miata out of all the generations so far. But even then, there is no way a normally aged NC could be an $8k car.

I think the Turbo is the only 944 I would want to own.

Reverse image search only came back with the autrader ad, for Parksville. Background looks local too. Could be legit

https://wwwb.autotrader.ca/ico/ford/..._18_18&sprx=50

SkunkWorks 06-09-2019 03:20 PM

Advertised mileage on CL vs the Autotrader ad is way off.

18.5 miles vs 76.5 kms.

I like the NC, but most of the examples I've seen are in the $12k region for early cars, which is 13 years old already. Most of these seem way over priced. I feel that they should be under 10.

dude took his text from:
https://www.baronelitewarehouse.com/...x?vid=21485285

Also the pictures are from mustangking.com (right click on the straight rear shot, google image search, then in the google image search, click tools->search by image->more sizes)

busted.

Not everyone's cup of tea -- but a rare & good weekend car at a good price. Has the bulletproof 3.2 instead of the weaker Kompressor engine, and it's manual!

Executor says it did not run when parked. Could be a gamble, at 58k miles I wonder if it is something simple and related to being parked all these years... or something catastrophic.

Good car for a new driver:
2009 Honda Civic base (DX-G?), senior lady driven (body is dinged up), 70k km, $3,500

Traum 06-10-2019 03:10 PM

I'd be surprised if it was a base model though, since it has alloy wheels. I thought the alloy wheels for this generation only came on the LX and above?

But damn it looks like a great buy (as a beater). IMO, the numerous dings and stuff means they are not worth fixing (professionally). But a little DIY elbow grease should get it back into a more presentable condition that will also slow the growth of rust. And then you just toss the car back into the market when you are done with it, and you can probably recoup your purchase price. So you are essentially just paying for maintenance to have use of the car.

I can't seem to find a Canadian brochure for the 2009 model year (DX-G isn't in the US market), but here's the 2010 brochure.

https://www.honda.ca/Content/honda.c...edan_print.pdf

DX-G has 15" aluminum-alloy wheels, electric variable power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, AC, power locks, remote keyless, and cruise control compared to the DX on the 2010.

yep - what a great find. been awhile since anything in this thread has really got my wheeler dealer going. manual is unicorn as hell.

I'd be willing to bet it's an easy fix. wish I had room, as it is these days I'm shuffling the fleet around constantly. Another car would bury me :alone:

reminds me of my $2000 944 from many moons ago......... very fond memories.

68style 06-11-2019 09:15 AM

I feel like tofu's "former car pictures" folder on his computer uses up more HD space than his porn folder

tofu1413 06-11-2019 09:27 AM

may need to revisit that and update the said porn folder. at least make it on par with the old cars folder I suppose.
