it wont need a beefier trans? the engine internals will hold up fine?

you need a nice intercooler, charge pipe, a custom e85 tune and you are already at 420whp with 450+ wtq - add downpipes and inlets and you are at 460whp and 500+ wtq , internals can hold 600-700 whp.

99% chance it's a kit car. A real one would be caught dead outside with a cloud in the sky.

donjalapeno 06-14-2019 09:57 AM

^ 100% its a kit car lol Real ones are unicorns. Still love them regardless.

tofu1413 06-14-2019 10:03 AM

that electric converted one at the autoshow this year looked neat.

will be a nice weekend toy......... (when its affordable)

Colbyh 06-14-2019 11:13 AM

You can get e85 sent to any flying j for no additional cost. I work close to a flying j in Abbotsford and a guy I work with always drops off jerry cans and they bring them to the flying j in new west and fill them for him.

Okay relax point was made, we're not about to post up links to each and every part in here.

Back to the scheduled programming:

Clean E34 540iA at a fair price from Splendid. Pre-Vanos era, these engines go forever. But in typical BMW fashion, everything around it will need some extra care every once in a while.

Clean 1 owner ES Civic Si, 5 spd, low km with window sticker. Combat the gas prices with this great buy ! And to be fair, whilst not the most durable Civic, it's still damn good -- just make sure oil changes are done on time.

tofu1413 06-15-2019 10:32 AM

iirc the facelift 7 gens had those issues addressed and were much better to own than the early units

that e34 is a pretty sweet deal. some M pars and hella black magic headlights will update the look.

That one is an intermeccanica made in Vancouver. But, I have a few clients with real ones that drive them on events regardless of weather. One of them even got to experience snow in Colorado this year. She never put the top up.

Porsche Cayman S Manual 6 Speed - $26000 (Burnaby)

Quick question of the day:

1) this 2006 Cayman S for $26k, or
2) a 2006 AP2 S2000 for $26k with exactly the same mileage

:troll:

I'm a big fan of Carrera sport wheels. Cheap Porsches scare me.

In this case, my personal guess is that the price is simply a reflection of the age and mileage of the car. 987.1 from the same era with much lower mileage aren't that much more expensive -- in the low $30k, I think?

Naturally, a Porsche is still a Porsche, and the maintenance costs will reflect that. And with this mileage, there will be more wear and tear related servicing required.

The cars depreciated with age. The oem parts actually got more expensive with every supercession.

Oh that is a tough question, I have automotive ADD at the best of times. The S2000 you mention is pretty nice (if it's the one for sale right now with the forged BBS's on it).

I'm a Porsche fanboy but if it's my money I'd go for the S2K. Way better investment upside potential than a generic Cayman that'll continue dropping in value.
