thats cheap. even with 430k kms. body looks like its in decent shape as well.

Do all the bushings, shocks and springs... and you have your self a nice handling car.

wonder if it has a factory optional LSD....

then your into it for 2-3x what you paid for it. and its still not worth shit cause its 430k.

and i would love to see someone swap a 302 in there for 1k.

that car is only worth buying and driving it into the ground and parting out

used set of billies and H&Rs will run about $600.

Rock auto has the lcas, lollipops in stock and they should be about another $400-$500.

assuming if this thing has an LSD, you'd be driving a pretty capable sideways friendly, fun E36.

or,

you could buy an "enthusiast owned" E36

No, it isn't. Oddly enough BMW had a hilarious amount of purple paint jobs available in the 90s.

tofu1413 11-18-2014 06:12 PM

I think its a daytona violet

rebuilt title... might be good to strip out and turn into a track whore?

I wouldn't call this a good deal by any means right now, but as a project he is going to have to be flexible. Looks like he's spent a lot of money on this, and it's almost done. Had to post it, as it's been advertised for a while.

Renthal 11-19-2014 03:13 PM

whats the story with those early 2000 E55s?
are they total money pits? anyone have any experience with them?

tofu1413 11-19-2014 03:15 PM

jmanhas has one. ask him Lol

jmanhas 11-19-2014 03:16 PM

^ i own one, and so far in my ownership I've only done nth but regular maintenance. I seriously don't know why they keep dropping in price! They are much more reliable than the W211 generation thats for sure.

flagella 11-19-2014 03:16 PM

I'm surprised to see how little leg room that car has. Or maybe the front seats are just pulled all the way back.

This is true considering the airmatic is a big ticket item in the w211, if mine ever fails, I'm just going to slap coils to replace it so I don't have to deal with it again.

But with the w211 you can do a e63 conversion and make it look so sex..

And going to slay it with c63 mufflers, going to be much sex

tofu1413 11-19-2014 03:26 PM

5.4 super charged motor....... sounds like a WWII fighter plane during WOT. :megusta:

jmanhas 11-19-2014 03:47 PM

that sounds pretty amazing!
this is how mine sounds like with a muffler delete

Renthal 11-19-2014 03:54 PM

man that sounds great.. but now I have to find one in black

knight604 11-19-2014 04:07 PM

I want to keep it more quiet for the benz , was thinking about the a muffler but alraedy have the bmw with the muffler delete ... two is too many..

Here is the m5 with muffler delete , not WOT , only up to 6k rpm

I'd consider.. *drool

Although I still fear that dreaded MPG #

jmanhas 11-19-2014 05:22 PM

^
mpg isn't that bad, i get roughly 480-500km per tank, and its an 80L tank. Granted i do 70city/30hwy, with the occasional spirited driving on the highway;)

knight604 11-19-2014 05:25 PM

Gas is gas , theres nothing you can do about it , some pay more to enjoy other cars , if you cant wrap your mind about paying for it .. I guess you shouldnt have a nice car.

For the price of the one above, I'd wrap it.

If it runs right you should get 23-24 highway MPG

W210 cars are regarded to have lower build quality compared to the W211 as a base - Mainly the W210 has rust problems.

Which is interesting because the W210 AMGs partly were assembled in Affalterbach, unlike newer AMGs which only have engines made in Affalterbach.

In the case of the W211 Airmatic, I actually really like it, it rides a lot better than the C55. - If one front side leaks $500 isn't the end of the world.

Oh and the W211 E55 sounds more like a modern fighter jet.
